The Detroit Pistons made the kind of history no NBA team wants to be part of on Tuesday night, losing their 27th consecutive game. That set a record for the longest single-season losing streak in league history.
Detroit kept the game close until the end and had an opportunity to cut the Brooklyn Nets’ lead to two or three points with 38 seconds remaining. The Pistons wanted to get the ball to Cade Cunningham, who scored 19 points in the fourth quarter (and 41 for the game).

Travis Dufner is officially a legend in the sports betting world.
There were plenty of sports to consume over the extended Christmas holiday weekend and Dufner didn’t want to miss out on the action.
He just did it a bit differently than the average person. Instead of grabbing some popcorn and beers, he threw down $5 on a 14-pick parlay at +9787560 odds on DraftKings.
He picked 14 players to all score a touchdown, and against seemingly impossible odds, he pulled it off. Yes, Travis somehow managed to hit on a +9787560 bet.

Mike McDaniel is easily one of the funniest coaches to ever roam an NFL sideline. If you need any more proof of that, then you need to see what he yelled at Miami Dolphins legend Dan Marino during a special sideline moment at last Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Marino, of course, spent his entire Hall of Fame career with the Dolphins and put up massive numbers while cementing his status as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game.

Ja Morant is, once again, facing some heat for his latest antics.
The Memphis Grizzlies star is back after serving a lengthy suspension following multiple off-the-court issues, and he made a very strange celebration decision Tuesday against the Pelicans.
The talented NBA guard, who seems obsessed with guns, appeared to pretend like he was shooting into the crowd following a dunk.
Morant was previously suspended for flashing a gun in a strip club and for flashing a fake gun in a car. It’s a pretty bold move to pretend to be opening fire on the crowd given his history.

You’re certainly not alone if the First Responder Bowl between Rice and Texas State didn’t grab your attention while you were aimlessly searching for something to watch on Tuesday night, but believe it or not, the game had plenty of great moments.
Not only did Texas State win the contest in what was the program’s first-ever bowl game, but fans who traveled to Dallas for the game drank the place dry before the midway point of the third quarter.

Welcome to the Power Rankings. We’re a day late, but for good reason. I hope the NFL was a tangential part of the holiday weekend, but not the entirety of your holiday weekend. Instead of writing our weekly staple on Monday, I was lucky enough to watch my daughter get a Furby, which, for people of a certain age, brings back all kinds of time-is-a-flat-circle reverberations. We still cannot figure out how to turn it off. We have spent approximately $32 in batteries to keep it droning on.
In short, life is good.
