The former Saints coach is being considered by the Texans, Panthers and Cardinals as well.
Sean Payton reportedly has earned a second interview with the Broncos, per Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
The report notes that the former Saints coach’s second interview is scheduled for Wednesday. His first interview happened a week ago on Jan. 17.
Payton is believed to be the first candidate to receive a second interview with the Broncos for their open head coaching position.

The AFC championship game would have been held at a neutral site if the Bills had beaten the Bengals on Sunday.
Bengals coach Zac Taylor relished his team’s divisional playoff game win over the Bills on Sunday, specifically addressing how his team ruined some fans’ travel plans. If Buffalo would have won, the AFC championship game would have been at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta between the Bills and Chiefs—a historic change to the NFL playoff format.

With the Women’s World Cup just six months away, U.S. players made their case for a place on Vlatko Andonovski’s squad in two wins over the last week.
The countdown to the 2023 World Cup is officially underway, with the U.S. women’s national team’s first friendlies of the year in the rearview mirror. Traveling to New Zealand, Vlatko Andonovski’s squad got acquainted with the World Cup cohosts ahead of this summer’s tournament, taking on the Football Ferns in Wellington and Auckland.

For the second straight year, the San Francisco 49ers bounced the Dallas Cowboys from the playoffs with a 19-12 final score. Dak Prescott threw two interceptions in the first half and finished with just over 200 passing yards and one touchdown. The Cowboys last play, with Ezekiel Elliott snapping the ball to Dak, was shut down when KaVontae Turpin was immediately tackled after hauling in the short pass. Skip Bayless discusses the biggest reason his Cowboys came up short again.

The reigning AFC champs were underdogs Sunday. Apparently, no one thinks their assistant coaches are good enough to poach. They’re over it. Cincinnati is just going to keep winning playoff games.
By the time Zac Taylor boarded for the short flight back to Cincinnati, the Bengals coach had cooled off a bit. The edge he carried in the immediacy of postgame, over the potential coin tosses and neutral sites catering to other teams but not his, and the way the group of players he’s proud of has been regarded, has dissipated a bit.

The star free agent has spoken out about the league’s use of commercial flying before.
Breanna Stewart once is speaking out against WNBA teams’ use of commercial flights, but this time she has an idea to help improve the situation.
The league has yet to establish charter travel for all teams, like most professional sports franchises, so Stewart wants to help.
“I would love to be part of a deal that helps subsidize charter travel for the entire WNBA,” Stewart tweeted on Sunday.

We’ve reached the two (minute) week NASCAR warning, folks. Two weeks? TWO WEEKS.
Everybody plan accordingly.
Get those Christmas lights down (yep, mine are still up, too), mow the lawn, tend to the garden, fix the leak under the sink and take your partner out on the town (we don’t judge here), because the 2023 NASCAR season unofficially goes green in two damn weeks.
I say unofficially, of course, because the real season starts Feb. 19 with the Daytona 500. Duh. But, that being said, we will have cars on the track, and drivers in seats at the LA Coliseum in less than 14 days.

If you’re trying to find Braves pitcher Spencer Strider in your program next season, get the number 65 out of your brain.
Strider will be No. 99 this season and it’s a nod to one of baseball’s most legendary fictional pitchers.
That’s right. According to Atlanta Journal-Constitution Braves writer Justin Toscano, Strider will honor Charlie Sheen’s character Rick Vaughn from the 1989 film Major League.

Spencer Strider now wears No. 99. His favorite movie is Major League and likes Rick Vaughn. But Strider also would use No. 99 for his players on MLB The Show.
