Is Alpine in the midst of a stunning F1 turnaround?
McLaren delivered a stunning turnaround throughout the 2023 Formula 1 season. A slow start saw the Woking-based operation limp out of the starting gate, and when the grid left the 2023 Spanish Grand Prix they were mired in sixth place with just 17 points on the season, 23 points behind fifth-place Alpine. But a series of upgrades to the MCL60 saw McLaren storm up the table passing several teams along the way, including Alpine.

Three weeks ago, Caitlin Clark left a game at the Barclays Center with an injury. Now, the Indiana Fever rookie has confirmed that she suffered a ruptured eardrum during a hard screen against the New York Liberty.
When a reporter asked Clark on Saturday to describe her “welcome to the WNBA” moment, she pointed to that injury sustained on June 2.
“I actually ruptured my eardrum when we were in New York on a tough screen,” she said. “So, if I had to pick one right now, it would probably be that.
“But, great screens. I just didn’t hear them.

Brazil is preparing to start its run for the Copa América title on Monday against Costa Rica. The team is in the United States for its match, which is to be played at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. They’ll do it without star Neymar, who tore his ACL in October.
But that hasn’t stopped Neymar from competing. In soccer, yes, but not in the world of high-stakes poker. He attended a game with notable players such as NBA star Jimmy Butler, boxer Ryan Garcia and gaming superstar Ninja.

Lando Norris gave it everything, but Max Verstappen had just a bit more Sunday to win in Barcelona
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya contains the longest run from the start-finish line to the first turn on the entire Formula 1 schedule. Measuring in at 579 meters from the pole position grid box to Turn 1, that is a lot of ground to cover at the start of a Grand Prix.
Saturday night those 579 meters must have been on Lando Norris’ mind.

Well, it finally happened: We got ourselves a walk-off pitch clock violation!
It all went down Saturday night in a game between the Colorado Rockies and Washington Nationals. The Rockies had the bases juiced with the scoreboard tied up at 7 in the bottom of the ninth inning. With a full count, Nationals closer Kyle Finnegan was a tad too late pitching the ball to Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon.
Home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt called the violation on Finnegan, runners advanced, ballgame over.
Even McMahon was confused, walking away from the plate as if he had struck out.
