If you’re a Texas Longhorns fan trying to get tickets to the Sugar Bowl against the Washington Huskies, good luck.
On January 1, the Big 12-champion Longhorns will travel to New Orleans in their quest for a national championship. While the Burnt Orange will have no problems getting into the stadium, their fans might.
According to Texas beat writer Anwar Richardson, lots of season ticket holders won’t be able to attend the semifinal matchup. Because of the (relatively) low seating capacity at the Caesars Superdome, Texas gets a much more limited seating allotment for their fans.
Everybody hates Devin Haney. Well, some people. At least in boxing. Any list of the sport’s most polarizing figures includes Haney. Most have him at the top. Critics include Shakur Stevenson (“soft,” Stevenson tweeted at Haney recently), Gervonta Davis (“Email champ”) and Regis Prograis (“Manufactured”), the latter of whom will face Haney for a version of the 140-pound title Saturday.
“I don’t know what it is,” says Haney. “But I embrace it.”
Some of it’s easy to understand. “Jealousy,” says Lou DiBella.
Jon Rahm is a two-time major winner, the defending Masters champion, a former World No. 1, and in recent years become one of the more likable golfers on the planet transforming from a bit of a hot head to a father of two who happens to be ridiculously good at golf. He is a superstar, and likely still a rising one at just 29 years old.
Rahm joining LIV Golf is without question the biggest blow the PGA Tour has suffered to date, at least from a player’s perspective.
The way Pittsburgh plays football just isn’t sustainable, and at some point, being a threat to win in the NFL playoffs has to outweigh the status quo of just making it.
The Patriots and Steelers had the lowest point total since 1993 (30.5) and the over hit at halftime of Thursday night’s Patriots-Steelers game, though the outcome wasn’t necessarily advantageous for either team. After a 21–18 road win, New England is now tied with the Cardinals for the second-worst record in the NFL while Pittsburgh fell out of the AFC playoff picture.
What a strange start to Week 14.
This week is about more than backup quarterback matchups and games with historically low over/unders — it’s also the final week of the fantasy football regular season.
Dak Prescott has taken a lot of criticism as the Cowboys quarterback, as such a high-profile position comes with all kinds of scrutiny. The veteran tends to handle that attention well, though, and he even turned it into an advertisement for an important product.
Prescott revealed a commercial Friday morning for the Colorectal Cancer Alliance’s Lead From Behind campaign, which encourages people to get screened using the non-invasive Cologuard at-home kit. The commercial is predicated on the idea that Prescott takes a lot of heat in his job.
1. In a day and age when so much content is scripted, planned out and inauthentic, we have a greater appreciation for anything that is spontaneous and real.
So I had to acknowledge a moment from a recent episode of Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson’s Nightcap podcast that not only blew me away but also made me laugh. Hard.
In the middle of a conversation about some million-dollar bet they were going to make with each other, Johnson, who was taping the podcast from a Philadelphia hotel room, complained about being cold.
What followed was a surreal yet wholesome exchange.
Jim Harbaugh might want to hold-off on signing that new contract Michigan is putting together at the moment. There’s a pretty big matchup with Nick Saban on the horizon and Harbaugh’s ‘love’ for the Wolverines could come crumbling down with a nice NFL offer.
Just take it slow, no need to rush into this new lease on life, on both sides. According to reports, Michigan is prepared to pay Jim Harbaugh $11 million per year. Don’t forget that Harbaugh hasn’t won a national title, but he’s won three in a row against Ohio State.
It’s pretty wild how some coaches are measured.
Caleb Williams was considered the prize quarterback of the 2024 NFL Draft, but Drake Maye has turned it into a tug-of-war. They aren’t the same type of player, leading to different opinions.
