Late Friday night, inside a cramped Memphis Grizzlies locker room, Ja Morant settled into a chair in the corner. It had been a frustrating night for Memphis, which dropped a 117–106 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. It had been an equally difficult one for Morant, who was held without a field goal in the fourth quarter.
“Obviously,” Morant said. “We didn’t get the outcome we wanted.”

To wit, one national radio personality went viral this week for a nonsensical take about Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Despite guiding the Ravens (12–3) to the NFL’s best record after an impressive 33–19 win Monday over the favored San Francisco 49ers (11–4), Jackson failed to win over Fox Sports Radio host Monse Bolaños.

James Harden and Russell Westbrook have reunited this year with the Los Angeles Clippers, playing on the same NBA team for the third time in their careers. Although both players are into their mid-30s now, they still have the ability to turn back the clock on occasion.
In Friday’s game against the visiting Memphis Grizzlies, Harden threw Westbrook an alley-oop to give the Clippers a 13-point lead in the first half. The play resulted in one of Harden’s 13 assists in the game, while Westbrook scored two of his 14 points.
Harden’s pass was deft, and Westbrook’s dunk was emphatic.

No. 9 Missouri picked up a big 14–3 win over No. 7 Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl on Friday night in Arlington, Texas, as the Tigers recorded an 11-win season for the first time since 2014. It also marked the first postseason win in coach Eli Drinkwitz’s tenure at Mizzou.
The Tigers trailed 3–0 entering the fourth quarter of a grueling contest, but they scored two touchdowns on long drives in the final frame to secure the victory. Mizzou quarterback Brady Cook was named the games’ offensive MVP after throwing for 128 yards and a touchdown and rushing for another 66 yards.

The College Football Playoff is nearly underway as the No. 1 Michigan Wolverines will take on the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl at 5:00 p.m. ET on January 1st, 2024. In the second semifinal matchup, the No. 2 Washington Huskies will face off against the No. 3 Texas Longhorns in the AllState Sugar Bowl at 8:45 p.m. ET.

Ohio State’s disappointing end to the 2023 season continued on Friday, as the Buckeyes fell to Missouri, 14–3, in the Cotton Bowl. The team ends the year with an 11–2 record, but with losses in arguably its two most important games.
As the Buckeyes struggled to score throughout the game against the Tigers, Ohio State fans grew even more frustrated with head coach Ryan Day. That included former Buckeyes running back Maurice Clarett, who went through the gamut of emotions watching the game.

Michigan offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore is facing criticism online for saying he doesn’t see race.
Moore and the Wolverines are gearing up to play Alabama in the Rose Bowl in the CFP semifinals, and the hype surrounding the game is deafening. Monday is going to be an incredible day of college football.
Unfortunately, some people have chosen to focus more on Moore’s stance on race than the game because he had the audacity to claim he doesn’t view people by the color of their skin.
