If you’re going to the U.S. Open, you have to have a Honey Deuce.
The signature cocktail has been a staple at the tennis tournament since 2005, and it’s also a giant cash cow for the organizers. Vendors at the 2023 U.S. Open sold more than 450,000 Honey Deuces over the 20-day event — an 11% increase from 2022.
At $22 a pop, that’s a whopping $9.9 million in sales for just this one concession item. To put that in perspective: Honey Deuce sales alone could cover the prize money paid to both the men’s and women’s singles champions.

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark scared WNBA fans after going down in the first quarter against the Atlanta Dream on Monday.
Clark tried to walk off the injury — rolling her ankle after a minor run-in with Atlanta’s Nia Coffey — but the Fever rook went back to the bench and removed her left shoe. She remained on the bench for the remainder of the quarter.
Clark jumped back into the game at the start of the second quarter, scoring a quick basket to put Indiana up, 24-19.
She exited the game after playing seven minutes, recording three points with two rebounds and one assist.

The PGA Tour recently changed its rule regarding broken clubs, finally allowing players to swap a club that was damaged during a round – provided the player did not damage the club out of anger or frustration.
Basically, if a player breaks his club during a round, and it’s not his fault, he can replace it. But if he breaks it because he’s angry and slams it into the ground, there is no replacement available.

Formerly a candidate to replace Ryan Tannehill, Titans backup quarterback Malik Willis is no longer an option in Tennessee — playing in a new jersey after being traded Monday to Green Bay.
Willis, a third-round draft pick out of Liberty in 2022, was traded to the Packers for a mere seventh-round pick, which decisively signaled to fans the resounding failure of the Malik Willis Experiment in Nashville.
In limited appearances for the Titans in 2022, Willis failed to exhibit QB1 play. In three starts that season (1-2), he amassed a 50.

Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon will commemorate his departed brother going forward with a jersey number change. Drew Gordon, Aaron’s older brother, died on May 30, 2024, in a traffic collision in Clackamas County, Oregon, — passing away at age 33.
Aaron Gordon, 28, is set to switch his jersey number from No. 50 to No. 32 as a tribute to Drew Gordon’s number as a basketball player at the University of New Mexico.
The 2023 NBA champ, playing with Denver, started his career in Orlando and wore the double zeroes on his back.

The top 30 players in the FedEx Cup standings will tee it up this week at the Tour Championship in Atlanta.
After Keegan Bradley’s thrilling victory at the BMW Championship in Denver, the top 30 players in the FedEx Cup standings return to Atlanta for the Tour Championship, the season’s final event.
But this year’s edition will feel quite different. Renowned golf architect Andrew Green, who recently revitalized Oak Hill Country Club in advance of the 2023 PGA Championship, performed a similar renovation at East Lake over the past year.

It’s been an interesting year for Clemson football fans, as Dabo Swinney works to get the Tigers back into the conversation around the College Football Playoff. But if you thought you would be able to connect with Swinney during the season on his coaches show, it won’t be by telephone.
Maybe you remember the story from last season. As Clemson was coming off another loss to put them 4-4 on the year, Dabo Swinney went into his weekly call-in show knowing that the fan base wasn’t happy about the current state of the program at the time.
