It came at West Ham United – Forest Gate-born Cross’ boyhood club – in the mid-1960s.
“We won the FA Cup, the European Cup Winners Cup and then, the next season, England won the World Cup.

Detroit — Is forward Carter Mazur’s time with the Red Wings done?
It might be. The injury-prone Jackson native didn’t receive a qualifying offer before Monday’s deadline, making him an unrestricted free agent Wednesday at noon.

The Wings, as expected, gave qualifying offers to defenseman Simon Edvinsson and minor-league goaltender Carter Gylander, who like Mazur were prospective restricted free agents. The Wings are expected to work out a long-term contract with Edvinsson this summer.

Jorge Posada unloaded on the state of modern baseball in a recent podcast with Abriendo Sports. Like, really took a hammer to the whole thing, calling the brand of ball being played these days “straight up garbage”. Liverpool star slammed for peformance in World Cup defeat
Liverpool Star Florian Wirtz Under Scrutiny After Germany World Cup Exit

Florian Wirtz will return to Liverpool with his World Cup over, and probably with more questions than answers.

Germany’s penalty shoot-out defeat to Paraguay has sparked the usual national inquest, because that is what happens when Germany exit a World Cup earlier than expected. The debate rarely stays narrow. It becomes about the coach, the structure, the culture, the talent pathway and, inevitably, the individuals.

Comparatively, these are excellent deals for New York.
Collin Gillespie is signing for $12 million a year and Marcus Smart is declining his $5.4 million option, while Alvarado was open to taking less than most exceptions offer.
