Veteran NFL safety Taushaun Gipson — who played in the recent Super Bowl with the San Francisco 49ers — has been suspended by the league for six games. 
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday that Gipson, 34, has been suspended after violating the league’s guidelines on performance-enhancing drugs.
Gipson is a free agent after two years spent in the Bay. He played in the 49ers’ losing effort against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 58, recording just five tackles.

The NHL schedule has officially dropped and the New Jersey Devils — who appear to be in a better mood than they should be after a disappointing season — did it in style with a very funny video featuring defenseman Dougie Hamilton.
The schedule reveal arms race is a big deal in the NFL with teams working overtime to see who can create the most viral release video. While that doesn’t happen to the same degree in the NHL, teams do try to get creative with it.

NBA player Cameron Payne underestimated the importance of following orders by police, leading to his unusual arrest. The 29-year-old was arrested in mid-June after he and his girlfriend started an argument early in the morning. Payne and his partner called police to their home in Scottsdale around 2:44 a.m. on June 14 — they informed authorities that their issue had been resolved but the NBA player’s refusal to give his real name to the police escalated the scene.
