Things quickly became heated on the field Tuesday night in the eighth inning of the Milwaukee Brewers‘ 8–2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
To lead off the eighth, Rays outfielder Jose Siri grounded out to first base. While Siri jogged to first, Brewers reliever Abner Uribe appeared to have some words for the 28-year-old. Siri chirped back.
Despite umpire Phil Cuzzi’s best efforts to separate the two players, Uribe and Siri exchanged blows, with Uribe throwing the first punch over Cuzzi’s shoulder to connect with Siri’s helmet.

Things got very chaotic in the back half of the Brewers’ 8-2 win over the Rays on Tuesday night.

Tyrese Maxey and the Philadelphia 76ers were staring down what felt like the closing seconds of their 2023–24 season.
Trailing the New York Knicks 3–1 in their first-round playoff series and 96–90 in Game 5, 76ers coach Nick Nurse called a timeout with 28.2 seconds left. Maxey took the reins from there.
Coming out of the timeout, Maxey was fouled by Mitchell Robinson as he drilled a three-pointer. He knocked down the free throw to complete the four-point play.

Three-time WNBA champ Diana Taurasi had sobering remarks about Iowa star Caitlin Clark, who’s entering her first year as a pro as the top WNBA draft pick and projected to be the face of the league. 
Clark’s fans weren’t happy with Taurasi’s comments, prompting the 41-year-old vet to respond to her haters, calling them soft for their ‘desperate’ defense of Caitlin Clark.
Taurasi’s remarks were pretty realistic about Clark’s transition to the pros.

The San Diego Padres entered the 2023 season with high expectations, thanks to a high-priced lineup filled with stars. Juan Soto, Manny Machado, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Xander Bogaerts were supposed to lead the Padres back for a deep postseason run after losing in the NLCS to the Philadelphia Phillies in 2022.
But San Diego started poorly, stumbling to a .500 record by late April thanks to an underperforming offense. At the time, Machado told Padres fans that no one should jump off the bandwagon after a poor offensive showing.
