Could the United States women have a little trouble at the Olympics when they get started next week?
Well, their first game didn’t exactly go so great.
The 2024 WNBA All-Star Game is in the books, with the WNBA All-Stars topping the US Women’s National Team (who, if you think about it, are still WNBA All-Stars) by a score of 117-109.
Now, think about the format for a moment.

While Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is in Phoenix for the WNBA All-Star Game, she’ll still be back in Indianapolis in one very unique way.
It was announced earlier this week that the Stewart-Haas Racing’s No. 4 Ford Mustang Dark Horse driven by Josh Berry will use a special paint scheme this weekend for the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway that features Clark on the hood.
It stems from a partnership with Panini trading cards, and it’s a sharp-looking paint scheme.

Two-time Super Bowl champion Shaquil Barrett has announced that he is hanging ’em up.
Barrett was cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in February after spending five seasons with the team, and signed with the Miami Dolphins in March.
However, he has informed them that he won’t be playing a single down for them because he’s calling it a career.
On Saturday, the 31-year-old out of Colorado State posted a message to Instagram announcing his decision.
“It’s time for me to hang it up,” Barrett’s post reads.

It’s been about a month since the Florida Panthers hoisted the Stanley Cup, and we’re about two and a half months away from the start of the 2024-25 NHL season. These are the dark times for hockey fans, but I was shocked to see that we nearly — nearly — had a Goal of the Year candidate in the middle of July thanks to New York Rangers star Artemi Panarin.
There’s not a lot of meaningful hockey being played this time of year. Sure, you’ve got Da Beauty League happening in Minnesota, but not much else.

There’s no denying the fact that the WNBA has come a long way in its popularity over the past year. Regular season games are seeing record viewership numbers, ticket sales are up, and more people are interested in the game than ever before.
As such, the WNBA was able to close on an 11-year, $2.2 billion media rights deal with NBC, Amazon, and Disney. This is a massive step forward for the league, in the eyes of everyone…except Cheryl Miller.
The Hall of Famer said on Friday that the WNBA got shortchanged in this deal, and that the amount the league received was too low.

Moving Day at The Open was wild as players like Adam Scott jumped up the leaderboard, and others became victims of the carnage.
Moving Day at The Open Championship saw how easy and difficult Royal Troon can play.
The players who played in the morning took advantage of the lack of conditions, while the afternoon saw a completely different golf course come to life.
Shane Lowry struggled down the stretch and fell to ninth on the leaderboard after signing for a 6-over 77. He led by three ahead of Saturday’s round.
