NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley released some steam on Tuesday night related to ESPN-NBA analyst and former player, Kendrick Perkins.
The second act of Perkins’ career involves appearing on TV and spewing bad takes. Last week, he went after the “Inside the NBA” crew, aiming at Chuck and Shaquille O’Neal for ‘bad-mouthing’ the Knicks this postseason.

Last week, a U.S. Circuit of Appeals court reversed a ruling that kept a teenage transgender girl (biological male) from competing in girls’ sports in West Virginia. In response, five girls refused to compete in a track & field meet against that athlete.
The group was led by a young female athlete named Emmy Salerno. On Wednesday, Salerno joined Riley Gaines, host of the OutKick podcast “Gaines for Girls,” and West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey as the AG signed “The Stand With Women Commitment.
He’s one of the sport’s superstars and led the NHL in goals this season. A series win against Toronto’s tormentors would elevate him further.

Former WNBA player Sue Bird reportedly joined the ownership group of the Seattle Storm, a WNBA franchise, according to Front Office Sports. That’s an interesting development, especially considering her staunch support of allowing transgender women (biological men) in women’s sports.
“Investing in women’s sports isn’t just about passion; it’s smart business,” Bird said, according to FOS.
That’s an interesting comment from Bird. She says she’s passionate about women’s sports.
Former Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones once famously tweeted that he didn’t go to Columbus to “play school,” but in the years since his college days, It looks like he keeps a closer eye on current events, and he’s not liking what he’s seeing from President Joe Biden.
Jones hopped on X to voice his concerns about the Commander-In-Chief’s well-being, particularly his mental state.
Yeah, we picked up on that too, Cardale.
Jones didn’t say what specifically led him to post this.

McIlroy weighed in on the PGA Tour equity news as he explained LIV Golf will have the upperhand regardless.
Earlier this year, the PGA Tour and Strategic Sports Group made a deal worth up to $3 billion. Reports suggest that part of that money will be given to PGA Tour players as equity payments for their loyalty.
Some of the projected share numbers were released on Wednesday ahead of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Tiger Woods will reportedly receive upwards of $100 million, and Rory McIlroy will receive the second most, at $50 million.

The Chicago Bears are hoping to replace Soldier Field in the near future, and on Wednesday, revealed their initial designs for a massive new domed facility near Lake Michigan.
Bears leadership revealed renderings in an X post on Wednesday afternoon of where they’d put the stadium in downtown Chicago. But more importantly, also revealed how they’d like the stadium to look, assuming it does get built.
Instead of the open air Soldier Field, the new building would have a dome to shelter Bears fans from the elements.

DETROIT – Thursday is big for Jayden Daniels because he’s obviously going to be selected in the first hour of the NFL draft, and perhaps as early as the No. 2 pick.
So the anticipation of that might make Wednesday night kind of tough on him.
“I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep,” Daniels said Wednesday afternoon.
Well, maybe Daniels should try something that’s proven to get him a good night’s sleep: Maybe Daniels should take his Heisman Trophy to bed.
Again.

BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU slugger Tommy White hit the biggest home run in college baseball last season. His two-run walk-off in the bottom of the 11th at the College World Series gave LSU a 2-0 win over No. 1 Wake Forest and sent the Tigers into the national championship against Florida that they won.
But White will likely always remember the somewhat meaningless one he hit Tuesday night here at Alex Box Stadium – a three-run shot for a 9-0 lead in the eighth inning of a 9-0 win over Nicholls State.

It doesn’t feel like too long ago that we were watching these 2024 NFL Draft prospects’ dads on the gridiron.
The inescapable march of time comes for us all, and what better time to remember our own mortality than the NFL Draft? With an ever-increasing number of NFL progeny entering the league we’re seeing the children of players who retired less than a decade ago trying to find a home in the NFL.
This 2024 NFL Draft class is headlined by three players who are the kids of former NFL players, with a few more later in the draft.

There’s going to be an NHL team playing in Utah next season and they’re going to need a name.
This week, owner Ryan Smith said that he plans to use a March Madness-style bracket to let fans decide what the team will be called.
Of course, this can’t be a free-for-all because the team will need to have the right to use whatever name ends up winning. The easiest way to do this would be to trademark a bunch of possible monikers so that whatever wins can be used.
Well, that appears to be what they’re doing.

The younger McCaffrey is a fascinating NFL Draft prospect.
There’s something in the water when it comes to the McCaffrey family and playing football. Christian McCaffrey is the best running back in football, a player who turned pre-draft doubt into ludicrous production as an all-purpose running back — now his younger brother Luke is entering the NFL Draft to much less fanfare, but remains a fascinating mid-round pick.
Luke McCaffrey, who played wide receiver at Rice, is expected to be a Day 3 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
