SpongeBob SquarePants took to the stage during Nickelodeon’s broadcast of The Big Game to sing a rendition of his classic “Sweet Victory,” a song made famous in the 2001 episode “Band Geeks.”
Winner takes all. It’s the thrill of one more kill.

The young, Native American Chiefs fan whose family is suing the website Deadspin for defamation is in attendance for the Super Bowl. The Kansas City kid, Holden Armenta, gained national attention when Deadspin called him “racist” for wearing “blackface.”
However, Deadspin neglected to show both sides of Armenta’s face, which proved that he had half of his face painted black and half painted red. He was clearly wearing the paint in support of the Kansas City Chiefs, who have both colors as part of their team color scheme.
A gold medal doesn’t mean you qualify for the next Olympics.
Kristin Juszczyk is wrapping up the 2023 NFL season in style. The only way she knows how.
Juszczyk, who is married to San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk, went viral multiple times this season creating custom gear for herself and celebrities to rock at NFL games, most notably pop superstar Taylor Swift.
Ahead of Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, Juszczyk donned another custom jacket she created that featured a piece of every jersey her husband Kyle has worn over his football career.
This year’s Super Bowl brought people of all walks of life together from Jason Kelce and Ice Spice to Taylor Swift and Roger Goodell.
The Eras Tour pop star and NFL commissioner were seen having an engaging conversation in a suite ahead of Super Bowl LVIII in Allegiant Stadium and naturally, fans had lots of questions.
Many suggested the strange and unexpected pairing was just further proof of the so-called “NFL script,” and that Travis Kelce, Swift’s boyfriend, and the Kansas City Chiefs were meant to reach—and perhaps win—the Super Bowl all along.
Jason Kelce’s wife, Kylie Kelce, is a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan. She loves them so much she refuses to wear any other NFL team’s gear, including the Kansas City Chiefs, who her brother-in-law, Travis Kelce, plays for.
Kylie Kelce is in attendance at Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas and she was seen wearing red, but not Chiefs red. Instead, she wore a University of Cincinnati shirt, which is the alma mater of both Kelce brothers.
Check this out:
Kylie Kelce’s commitment to never wearing actual Chiefs gear is my favorite thing about her. pic.twitter.
Dustin Johnson appears ambivalently content. If he’s bothered by his 228th position in the Official World Golf Ranking prior to his victory in the LIV Golf’s League’s Las Vegas event Saturday, he is hardly emitting that vibe.
Johnson, 39, never made a big fuss about much of anything when he jumped to LIV Golf in June 2026. He never disparaged the PGA Tour, was not part of any lawsuits, made a point to say he appreciated everything the Tour did for him.
NBA guard Dennis Smith, Jr. fell for an erroneous trade put out this week by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, as teams were approaching the final moments of the NBA’s trade deadline.
Though Woj is typically accurate in this breaking news biz, he got hasty on an uneventful trade deadline. On Tuesday, Wojnarowski tweeted that the Brooklyn Nets traded Dennis Smith, Jr. to the Toronto Raptors. But it turns out, Smith was never part of the trade, prompting the NBA reporter to quickly delete his tweet.

Giants undrafted rookie QB Tommy DeVito only went 3-3 after being forced into starting duties but his flashy rise to cult fame has carried him all the way into a national Super Bowl commercial.
One of the most enjoyable arcs of the 2023 NFL season came via New York Giants rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito who, due to a slew of injuries to both veterans Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor, found himself going from undrafted to starting in one of the world’s largest media markets in lightning speed.
ESPN NFL analyst and former New York Jets and Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan interviewed with the Dallas Cowboys for their open defensive coordinator position. According to fellow ESPNer Adam Schefter, Mike Zimmer got the job over Ryan.
But, as ANOTHER famous ESPNer – Lee Corso – is fond of saying: “Not so fast, my friend!”
During the network’s pregame Super Bowl coverage, Schefter delivered a report that the Cowboys are expected to hire former Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer as their new defensive coordinator.
She did it folks.
Taylor Swift has made it to The Big Game.
After fans worried that Swift might struggle to make it from a run of shows in Japan over the past week back to the United States in time to watch her boyfriend Travis Kelce play in Super Bowl LVIII, the biggest pop superstar in the world made her grand entrance to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas about two hours before kickoff.

But as was made very clear to reporters on the ground at the Super Bowl, no pictures were allowed.
The Kansas City Chiefs might have to play another road game in Super Bowl LVIII
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs had to do something new in their run to Super Bowl LVIII: Win playoff games on the road.
If the buildup to Super Bowl LVIII is any indication, they might need to win one more.
Allegiant Stadium is just 531 miles from Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers.
No one is having more fun during the build up to the Super Bowl than Jason Kelce.
It all started when the Philadelphia Eagles center attended an Adele concert with his wife, Kylie, in Las Vegas on Friday night. Adele asked the entire crowd which team they wanted to win the Super Bowl.
A decent chunk of fans voted for the Chiefs, but the crowd overwhelmingly favored the 49ers. But after most of the venue voiced their choices, one random guy in the audience shouted “EAGLES.”
That random dude, of course, was Kelce.

The running back will give Kansas City a boost.
Both the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs have announced their inactive players for Super Bowl LVIII Sunday.
The most notable game-day decisions is that the Chiefs have activated running back Jerick McKinnon for the game. Wide receiver Kadarius Toney continues to be inactive for the Chiefs, though.
McKinnon was just activated from the injured reserve and he was trending toward being available Sunday. The final determination was made prior to the game.

We’re sharing the best of best of Super Bowl 58 commercials
The Super Bowl — a true American holiday.
It has everything, and the most important NFL game of the year is just the tip of the party. It’s food, family, friends, adult beverages (if that’s your thing), glitzy halftime shows and, of course, the commercials.
Philly loves Kylie Kelce for her sly fashion choices.
Kylie Kelce is as Philly as it gets. Raised in Philadelphia’s Main Line neighborhood of Narberth, Kelce — who was born as Kylie McDevitt — attended Lower Merion High School, aka the alma mater of Kobe Bryant, and Cabrini University in Wayne, Pennsylvania for college. She married Jason Kelce in 2018, and the couple has three daughters together.
The Los Angeles Lakers signing veteran guard Spencer Dinwiddie was written in the stars all along—or, more aptly, written by Dinwiddie himself many years ago.
On Saturday, Dinwiddie was traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Toronto Raptors, who ended up waiving him. After clearing waivers, the 30-year-old chose to join the Lakers as a free agent.
As part of his team initiation, the Lakers dug up one of Dinwiddie’s old tweets from 2013 and suggested that the former Nets star was destined to come to Los Angeles.

Two remarkable comeback stories coalesced into one at the Africa Cup of Nations final. Haller and Ivory Coast beat Nigeria 2-1.
Super Bowl Sunday is here. Finally.
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will battle Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers in what should be a very good game between the two best teams in the NFL.
CBS will be broadcasting the game this year, with Jim Nantz and Tony Romo calling the action from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
If you’re looking for ways to stream the game for free, don’t worry—we’ve got you. Paramount+ and FuboTV are both offering free seven-day trials over their services, and both will be carrying the game.
Just like Travis Kelce often does on the field for the Kansas City Chiefs, he impressed with his pregame outfit ahead of Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Kelce, who boasts a WWE-meets-rock-star personality, reflected such characteristics in his dazzling pregame outfit, which made him look like he might somehow be a part of the Super Bowl halftime show.
Not to be outdone by bis brother Jason, the Chiefs star donned a shimmery jacket and pants along with black sunglasses.

Here’s what you need to know about Andra Day, the “Lift Every Voice and Sing” performer at the Super Bowl.
If one of the Super Bowl’s more recent, and welcome traditions the performance of Lift Every Voice and Sing returns to the biggest game on the calendar. This year Andra Day will take the microphone to perform one of the three major songs ahead of kickoff.
Day has been one of the fastest-rising R&B/soul singers since releasing her first album “Cheers to the Fall” in 2015.
Taylor Swift has made to Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, where she’ll cheer on Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs after a making the long trek back to the United States following her concert in Japan on Saturday night.
The pop star arrived at Allegiant Stadium a few hours before kickoff, wearing all black and holding a Chiefs red jacket over her shoulder.
Kelce and the Chiefs will be looking to win their second straight Super Bowl when they face the San Francisco 49ers, and they will have their most famous fan in attendance for the Big Game.
Despite the need for a quarterback after poor performances from Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe, the New England Patriots are reportedly considering trading down in the 2024 NFL Draft and taking a risk on a shot caller though the free agency.
Have no fear, Taylor Swift has made it to the Super Bowl.
You can stop worrying now.
Taylor Swift has made it to Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII.
In the days surrounding the AFC Championship Game, the notion of Swift making it to the Super Bowl were filled with conversations about jet lag, time zones and the International Date Line. After all, the pop culture icon is in the middle of the international swing of her “The Eras” tour, and was performing in Tokyo this week.

Reba McEntire is a legend.
The NFL has settled into a comfortable tradition when it comes to the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. For the fourth year in a row we’ll have a country musician sing the “Star Spangled Banner,” with legend Reba McEntire doing the honors in 2024.
With a career spanning almost 50 years, McEntire is one of the best-known country musicians on the planet, and not always directly because of her music.
Jason Kelce has had so much fun cheering on his brother, Travis Kelce, during the Chiefs’ playoff run the past few weeks, including a wild afternoon in Buffalo where he took off his shirt and celebrated like a mad man during Kansas City’s big win.
The Philadelphia Eagles center is in Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII, where the Chiefs will be looking to win back to back titles when they face the 49ers, and he picked a great outfit to wear to the game.
Did you know there’s a former football player who has the same name as a “Breaking Bad” character?
It’s okay if you didn’t, neither did I. And neither did two members of the NFL Network’s cast.
As part of the NFL Network’s pregame coverage for Super Bowl LVIII, Rich Eisen asked Michael Irvin and Steve Mariucci (a former NFL coach), a rather simple trivia question. He wanted them to pick the name out of a list of four options that was both the name of a former Kansas City Chiefs player and a character in the wildly popular television series.
Iowa’s Caitlin Clark Misses NCAA Scoring Record By 8 Points At Nebraska, So She Can Break It At Home
The stage was set for Iowa superstar Caitlin Clark to become NCAA women basketball’s all-time leading career scorer on Super Bowl Sunday afternoon in front of a FOX national TV audience and sell-out crowd of 15,500 at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska.
“She’s going to be one of the best college basketball players to ever play,” Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said in pre-taped feature. He played San Francisco later Sunday in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.
Viewers who tuned in to the fourth quarter of Sunday’s Iowa—Nebraska game hoping to see Caitlin Clark break Kelsey Plum’s NCAA Division I women’s career scoring record witnessed a massive upset instead, one that included a sneaky bit of shade directed at Iowa’s beloved sharpshooter.
Down 14 points in the fourth quarter, the Cornhuskers stormed back to win, 82—79, and hand the No. 2 Hawkeyes their third loss of the season. In a pivotal moment, Nebraska guard Jaz Shelley drilled a three-pointer with roughly 30 seconds left in the game to give her team its first lead at 78—77.

Post Malone has become one of the biggest music stars in the world. Here’s what you need to know.
In one of the biggest tonal shifts in recent memory the NFL will have Post Malone sing “America the Beautiful” at the Super Bowl, before Reba McEntire takes over for the national anthem.
This marks Posty’s first major performance for the NFL in a game of this caliber, and could potentially be a prelude for a future halftime show performance.
South Carolina improved to 23-0 in a dominant effort against UConn.

Want to take out a loan for Super Bowl beer?
Let’s face it: If you have the money to go to the Super Bowl then price is of little concern to you. Spending $20 on a beer feels like nothing when it spent $3,000 to sit in the stands — but still, the concessions prices of the game have always been out of control.
Las Vegas was always going to go big, and the prices reflect that as well.
Maybe I’m numb to pricing, but for a Super Bowl the food prices don’t seem entirely insane. pic.twitter.
Tom Brady is expected to purchase a 7% stake in the Raiders.
Caitlin Clark scored 31 points on Sunday but was held scoreless in the fourth quarter of a 82-79 road loss to Nebraska.
Patrick Mahomes is treating the Kansas City Chiefs’ journey to Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII to face the San Francisco 49ers as a business trip.
The Chiefs quarterback has said as much, telling reporters that he told his teammates the trip is strictly professional, promising to bring them all back to Las Vegas should they win the Big Game.
If you didn’t believe Mahomes was treating his stay at Sin City as purely business, look no further than the pregame outfit he donned walking into Allegiant Stadium on Sunday.
The PGA Tour’s West Coast Swing ends this week with one of the Tour’s most enduring events and a host everyone will be watching.
Historic Riviera Country Club hosts the Genesis Invitational, a signature event with a $20 million purse and $4 million awarded to the winner. Unlike the previous two signature events this season, the Genesis will have a 36-hole cut to the low 50 players and ties.
Host Tiger Woods, who made a record 142 straight cuts from 1998 to 2005, approves.

For a second straight year, there are field quality concerns at the Super Bowl.
The grass is not, in fact, always greener on the other side. That’s at least what the San Francisco 49ers would apparently tell you about the quality of the practice field at their current home away from home.
In preparation of their upcoming Super Bowl LVIII matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, the 49ers are practicing at the UNLV facility in Las Vegas. A standard three practices are planned leading up to the game.
Zach Johnson, Billy Horschel and Jordan Spieth all had run-ins with fans on Sunday at TPC Scottsdale.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney wore out his welcome in New York with the Giants, causing the team to ship him to KC. Now, it looks like he’s probably worn out that welcome, too. There was a chance he would play in the Super Bowl, but it looks like the team plans to have running back Jerick McKinnon active instead.
McKinnon suffered a groin injury in Week 15 against the New England Patriots and seemed unlikely to play again this season. However, the Chiefs activated him ahead of the Super Bowl and early reports suggest they plan to put him back into the lineup.

The 49ers could have drafted Patrick Mahomes in 2017, but the QB they did draft opened the door to Brock Purdy
Ahead of Super Bowl LVIII much has been made of how the San Francisco 49ers were able to build a championship-caliber roster despite some mistakes along the way. Particularly, for example, at the top of a few different draft classes.
Now, thanks to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, we now know the answer.
C.J. Beathard.
Let’s dive into this a little more.

The Philadelphia Eagles have given star linebacker Haason Reddick permission to seek a trade, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Sunday. The news was confirmed by ESPN’s Tim McManus.
Reddick, 29, is one of the best pass-rushers in the NFL and is coming off of back to back Pro Bowl seasons. The seven-year veteran has tallied double-digit sacks for four consecutive years, including 11 in 2023. He also registered 38 tackles and 23 quarterback hits while starting all 17 regular-season games.
He was drafted out of Temple with the No.
One of the best features of the Waste Management (WM) Phoenix Open is just how many fans show up to the PGA Tour event and how vocal they are. Most players love the atmosphere. U.S. Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson, though, apparently doesn’t like the chirping.
During most PGA Tour events, fans are relatively muted. Sure, you get the loud cheers for great shots. But, almost no events feature fans openly heckling regularly. However, players who miss the green on the iconic par-3 16th hole are treated to a chorus of boos.

If the Chiefs lose the Super Bowl there will be only one man to blame.
Super Bowl LVIII between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers will be the ultimate litmus test for the so-called “Drake Curse.”
You haven’t heard of it? Let us explain.
Canadian rapper Drake is an avid sports fan, and oftentimes has either been photographed with athletes or bet on their success. However, there are numerous examples of his support being a net negative for those he is rooting for.

Golfers have become tired of unruly fans during this week’s WM Phoenix Open, as some even voiced their displeasure during play.
PGA Tour players are becoming sick and tired of the antics that have taken place at TPC Scottsdale this week.
Zach Johnson, who led the U.S. Ryder Cup team this past fall, was caught on video early Sunday saying, “I’m just sick of it. Just shut up.
Last night was the first time Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic and Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green met since Green’s suspension. Things got interesting, to say the least.
If you recall, Green got suspended indefinitely in December for punching Nurkic in the face. Even after blatantly hitting a guy in the head, Green tried to paint the incident as accidental after the game.
That’s about as immature a response as you could come up with in that situation.
Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler is taking a leave of absence following a death in his family. The identity of the family member is unknown at this time.
“Jimmy Butler has been granted a leave of absence as he deals with the death of a family member,” Butler’s agent, Bernie Lee, said in a statement. “Jimmy and his family ask for privacy at this point in time as they navigate this loss. Updates will be given when appropriate.”
Butler, 34, is in the midst of his 13th NBA season out of Marquette. The six-time All Star is averaging 21.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.
