Sports fans were rightfully frustrated by the 8:50 pm ET start time of the NCAA National Championship Game on Monday.
“I know we complain about it every year but WHY are we tipping a Final Four game at 8:49 pm?? It’s Saturday. Give us an afternoon game and an evening game,” asked Barstool’s Kayce Smith on X.
Yet while college basketball absorbs the brunt of the outrage over late starts, it is far from the lone offender. Championship-clinching games across major leagues routinely stretch deeper into the night than East Coast viewers would prefer.

With Michigan’s 69-63 win over UConn in the national championship Monday night, fans of the UCLA Bruins are left wondering what could have been.
Sure, that UConn squad dominated the Bruins 73-57 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, but the team that toppled the Huskies heavily featured a former UCLA player.
UCLA coach Mick Cronin only played Spanish center Aday Mara 13 minutes per game last season, but he played 30 minutes — second most on his team — in the championship game.
It’s official – Luis Díaz has unlocked a new level for Bayern 🔓
Bayern Munich headed in at the break of their Champions League quarter-final first leg clash with Real Madrid with the upper hand thanks to Luis Díaz’s strike.
Much like the rest of Vincent Kompany’s side, the Colombia international has enjoyed a highly productive season and elevated it with his goal at the Bernabéu.
Díaz got the better of his one-time Liverpool teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold, now lining up for Los Blancos, before breaking the deadlock in Tuesday’s 41st minute.

The NHL’s current playoff format has faced a lot of criticism this year, but I think the bigger problem is the point system.
Yeah, I’m far from the first person to bring this up, and it’s been talked about a lot, but apparently not enough.
Because we could see a team with less than 20 regulation wins 77 games into the season make the playoffs.
And that is just straight up wrong.

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Last year at about this time, Rory McIlroy drove up Magnolia Lane toward the Augusta National clubhouse. He was meeting Justin Rose for a Tuesday evening dinner prior to the start of the 2025 Masters.
During the week of the Masters, Tuesday night is also the traditional champions’ dinner, where only the men who have won a green jacket gather in the upstairs rooms of the Augusta National clubhouse. And as McIlroy pulled up to the roundabout in front of the clubhouse, he looked up and saw green jackets. So many green jackets.

Coming into the 2026 season, 90 wins seemed like a reasonable goal for the Boston Red Sox. After all, they won 89 games last year and seemingly improved their pitching staff and defense over the offseason. They could also expect to get a full season from Roman Anthony and perhaps continued improvement from other young stars.

When I was a kid, my final hurrah before I went back to the drudgery of school was to plop in front of the TV on Sunday night to watch Fox’s lineup, which included stuff like The Simpsons, King of the Hill, and Malcolm in the Middle.
I was a company guy long before I was an actual company guy.
Oddly enough, all of those shows are still currently around in some form or another, with Malcolm in the Middle returning for a short revival on Hulu this Friday, called Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair.
The NFL is approaching the 2026 NFL Draft, and teams are conducting their final Top-30 visits while wrapping up their draft boards.
Rumors and speculation continue to swirl as April 23 draws closer. The Miami Dolphins have suddenly built a massive draft haul after executing multiple trades.
In free agency, they also signed quarterback Malik Willis to a significant contract. Despite that move, reports have suggested the Dolphins could still draft a quarterback as insurance in case things don’t go as planned with Willis.
