Friedkin ready to invest €100 million for three signings
Ryan Friedkin recently reassured Gian Piero Gasperini. How? By guaranteeing a €100 million investment for three high-profile signings who could improve Roma’s squad.
The manager was a bit worried because he wanted to capitalize on the uncertainties of competition from Napoli to AC Milan, including Juventus.
Gasp’s goal is to raise the bar, which is why he wants clarity from the owners, who have responded by holding talks with the agents of Greenwood and Alajbegovic and formalizing the summer training camp.
Yunus Musah offered to Roma
The transfer window is just around the corner, and following Tony D’Amico’s official announcement, Roma is ready to make its decision regarding both incoming and outgoing transfers.
Once the issues surrounding expiring players and UEFA’s FFP restrictions have been resolved, the Giallorossi will also focus on signings to strengthen the squad.
In midfield, a name that could be a good fit for the Roman club is Yunus Musah.
The 2002-born player, on loan to Atalanta from AC Milan last season, is unlikely to remain with the Rossoneri next season.
Brazil begin World Cup bid under tempered hopes, as Morocco test opens Group C
Brazil begin their World Cup campaign this evening with expectations tempered from a torrid qualification campaign.
The South Americans are the only ever-present participators in World Cup history, but that record has rarely been in more jeopardy than during a rollercoaster 2026 qualification campaign.
Brazil finished fifth in CONMEBOL’s 10-team table, lost a third of their games, and were beaten home and away by Argentina.

The 34-year-old has been struggling with a calf injury and is yet to return to full training.
Manager Ancelotti says the former Barcelona and Paris St-Germain forward will start training with the squad next week, making his availability doubtful for Brazil’s second match – against Haiti on 20 June.

DHARAMSHALA: It’s not often Rohit Sharma cuts a quiet figure in a team setting. On Friday evening, he ambled around the centre square, casually joining fielding drills while others went through a far more intense routine before nets. Rohit has never been the most agile, but his presence has always carried weight. This time, even the familiar banter was missing.
The ODI World Cup in South Africa is still 15 months away, but the three-match series against Afghanistan, starting Saturday, feels like the start of an audition. Rohit, now 39, sits on 282 ODIs, 33 centuries and 11,577 runs.
While the men’s World Cup is undoubtedly commanding the attention of football fans around the world, there is the small matter of the summer transfer window rumbling in the background.
It is the busiest time of the year for incomings and outgoings, and follows in the footsteps of last year’s record-breaking window. That saw £3.11billion ($4.17bn) spent by Premier League clubs and the British record broken by Liverpool’s £125m acquisition of Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.

USA and Iran are not in the same group at the 2026 World Cup, but the expanded knockout format still leaves a clear route for them to meet.
The matchup carries history after their World Cup meetings in 1998 and 2022, but this time it cannot happen during the group stage.
For the game to return in 2026, both teams need to survive their groups first, then land on the right side of the knockout bracket.

The White Sox took care of business to earn their eighth straight home win.
Just like dealing with a moody teenager, you never know what you’re going to get with Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Roki Sasaki. It seems that half the time he pitches gems, and the other half are absolute duds. Worse for the Dodgers, with Shohei Ohtani out due to knee inflammation the White Sox had a perfect opportunity to steal a win against the defending champions regardless of Roki’s performance.
