Northwestern may not be a perineal powerhouse in college football as the small private school outside of Chicago, but come 2026, the Wildcats will be playing their home games in the most modern and state-of-the-art stadium in the country.
The Wildcats are currently having to play their home games in a makeshift ‘stadium’ that only holds around 15,000 people that also plays host to the school’s lacrosse and soccer teams as they await the new Ryan Field to be completed.
Deion’s Buffaloes Continue To Rise And The Big Ten And SEC Jockey For Position in OutKick’s Elite 12
Did you expect anything different this weekend in college football? As we head down the homestretch of the regular season, there are a number of teams looking for help in their hopes of making the playoff, but as we saw on Saturday, teams like Georgia, Colorado and SMU all did their part to stay in contention.
But it wouldn’t be a chaotic weekend without some type of madness. After hanging on over the last few weeks with a number of late-game comebacks, things finally went off the rails for BYU, losing to Kansas in a pivotal Big 12 showdown.
The decision to offer Daniel Jones a contract and not Saquon Barkley has set the Giants back years.
The decision to give Daniel Jones, now the Giants’ third-string QB, a $160M contract and letting Saquon Barkley leave for $37.75M has set New York back years.

The Detroit Lions could get star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson back if they reach the Super Bowl. He posted some rehab video that has fans fired up.
The Detroit Lions are rolling through the 2024 NFL regular season, all in spite of a critical injury loss. Defensive end Aidan Hutchinson broke his tibia in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys and has emergency surgery that night for the compound fracture.
Spirits sunk for the organization after the injury, but they’ve been on a roll ever since.
Giants Bench Daniel Jones And Skip Drew Lock And Head Toward Offseason Of Huge Quarterback Decisions
The news is that Daniel Jones has been benched by the New York Giants, which was expected when the salary cap said do it and coach Brian Daboll confirmed the team was considering it. But now the intrigue begins.
Because in benching Jones, the Giants are also skipping past backup Drew Lock as the next starter per multiple reports. They’re going directly to third-stringer Tommy DeVito as the starter on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
And that calls into question everything this management team does at the quarterback position.
Bills coach Sean McDermott faced a decision, and opted to keep Patrick Mahomes on the bench.

Every time you count them out, the Steelers just keep finding a way to win.
We all know the formula for every Pittsburgh Steelers game.
The offense looks a hair above incompetent for 50 minutes, being reliant on George Pickens’ wild catches or superhuman plays by Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren. The defense looks incredible (sans a few blips), but the quarterback play is just barely above average. Kicker Chris Boswell looks like the most impressive offensive player.
And yet, they keep winning games.
The Canadian Football League is already incredibly strange when you compare it to the NFL and the vastly different rules between the two leagues. In perfect CFL fashion, the Grey Cup, the final game of the season, got off to a truly bizarre start on Sunday night when the head referee forgot the most important rule of a coin toss.
There are really only two rules of a coin toss: ask someone to call heads or tails and then toss the coin in the air. Somehow, referee Ben Major forgot the first rule.
Just 31 teams have been eliminated from bowl contention.

Miller, the former head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks, shared how energizing earning the No. 1 pick in the draft was.
The Dallas Wings won the WNBA Draft Lottery — and their newly-hired general manager, Curt Miller, couldn’t be happier.
Miller, who was fired from his role as head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks in September, addressed the media for the first time since his hiring, just a few minutes after the lottery balls indicated that the Wings had secured the No. 1 pick, and a chance at University of Connecticut standout Paige Bueckers.
Look, I fully expected to come out of the gates this morning with a scorching hot take about how insufferable Tony Romo was yesterday.
And Tony was bad. Don’t get me wrong. I muted the game literally 30 seconds in. Seriously. Couldn’t do it.
But he was ham & eggs compared to Cris Collinsworth, who had a shockingly bad showing in LA last night. I didn’t see it coming. I’ll be honest with you. I like Collinsworth. I really do.
Here’s a guy! I don’t mind it. I really don’t.

Wisconsin fans appear to be very happy about Phil Longo being fired.
Badgers head coach Luke Fickell released a statement Sunday announcing that Longo had been fired as the team’s offensive coordinator following a 16-13 loss to Oregon.
“This morning, I informed Phil Longo that he will no longer serve as our offensive coordinator. After continuing to evaluate the program, I decided we are not where we need to be and believe this decision is in the best interest of the team.
The Giants have benched the struggling Daniel Jones and are expected to name Tommy DeVito as their new starting quarterback, sources told ESPN.
NFL Nation reporters react to all the action, answering the biggest questions coming out of each game.
What a race! I mean, I didn’t think anything could top last week, but we finally got a good automobile race yesterday out of the NASCAR fellas.
They did it. They finally did it. All the naysayers can piss right off. You’re done. We don’t wanna hear it anymore. If you didn’t like that, then I don’t know what to tell ya. Go watch those pansies in F1 at 4:30 in the morning on ESPN 2. Enjoy!
No, wait. That’s not right. Well, the part of F1 being a bunch of pansies was, but everything else? Not so much. I may have gotten ahead of myself there.
The Trump Dance is taking over the sports world. Over the past couple of weeks, UFC champion Jon Jones and dozens of football players across the college and NFL ranks have shown off their dance moves, and now the Trump Dance has made its way to the LPGA courtesy of Charley Hull.
Hull, the No. 12 player in the world, has reached superstar status in the women’s game this year. Not only has she had a strong LPGA campaign and put together a great run in the 2024 Solheim Cup for Team Europe, but she also rips cigarettes throughout tournaments.

Aaron Rodgers and the Jets are drowning, and no lifeline is coming.
The Jets suck. There are a lot of struggling teams in the NFL this season, but nobody as profoundly disappointing as this soulless husk of a team. It wasn’t long ago that it felt like this was going to work, that going all-in on another aging legend at quarterback could yield the same quick-hit success of the Buccaneers and Rams. Now after 11 weeks the train is totally off the rails, and there’s no solid path forward.
Losing to the Colts is the latest chapter in this comedy of errors.
After it was over and the Buffalo Bills knocked the Kansas City Chiefs from their unbeaten perch, quarterbacks Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes hugged and shared a midfield exchange caught on national television:
“We’ll do it again, baby,” Mahomes told Allen, prophesying a future postseason meeting in which the AFC’s two best teams will compete for the right to advance toward a championship.
The Chiefs and Bills, you see, remain on a collision course following Sunday’s 30-21 Buffalo victory.
Nobody with a voice disagrees with that.

What Max Verstappen needs to do in Las Vegas to win a championship, and how Lando Norris can stop him
Formula 1 is entering the final stretch of the 2024 season.
Next weekend the grid will descend upon Las Vegas, for the second Las Vegas Grand Prix. The inaugural event a season ago got off to a rocky start when Carlos Sainz Jr. drove over a loose manhole cover in the first practice session, causing substantial damage to his SF-23 and bringing out a red flag that extended the session deep into the night.

How does the 2025 NFL Draft order shape up after Week 11?
Week 11 of the 2024 NFL season settled some things at the top of the standings. FOr example, the Pittsburgh Steelers took control in the AFC North with an 18-16 win over the Baltimore Ravens. Rafael Campos had an incredible week before even making it to Bermuda, and then he capped it off with his first career PGA Tour victory.
What a week for Rafael Campos.
On Monday, he and his wife, Stephanie, welcomed their first child into the world, a reality that this couple did not believe was possible not too long ago. Hence, Campos called it the “best day of his life,” something millions of new parents around the world can relate to.
Dan Campbell was vibing after the Detroit Lions hammered the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Lions put on arguably the most impressive win of the NFL season after crushing the Jaguars 52-6 to improve to 9-1. Doug Pederson and company are lucky it wasn’t worse.
Campbell called off the dogs late in the fourth quarter and benched Jared Goff after the QB threw for four touchdowns and 412 yards.
The Lions are the hottest team in the NFL, and that was on full display Sunday.

It looked like it was going to be the same old Chargers as a blowout turned into a near-collapse late Sunday — until it didn’t. Plus: Josh Allen’s MVP moment.
There is no Steve Wilks to blame. There is no bye week to get things right. And now the focus is starting to shift to Kyle Shanahan’s offensive play-calling.
Evan McPherson may face being blacklisted in Cincinnati after missing several crucial kicks for the Bengals during Sunday Night Football against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The lights at SoFi Stadium were too bright for McPherson, who missed two fourth-quarter field goal attempts in a one-score loss to the Bolts, 34-27. He missed from 48 and 51.
McPherson spoiled a roaring comeback by Joe Burrow and the Bengals offense in the second half.
Both misses by McPherson worked against Joe Burrow’s efforts to bring the Bengals back into the game after they had fallen to a 21-point deficit.

The 49ers called their latest loss after a blown lead late “infuriating” as they are left searching for answers with a 5-5 record.
Darius Garland scored 25 points, Ty Jerome matched his career high with 24 in place of Donovan Mitchell, and the Cavaliers stayed unbeaten with a 128-114 win over the Hornets on Sunday night.
After winning their first nine games in not-so-dominant fashion, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs ran out of magic Sunday, losing 30-21 to the Buffalo Bills in Orchard Park, New York, the club’s first defeat since Dec. 25, 2023.

There are some pretty great mysteries in the world: Was Atlantis real? (It definitely was). Have we really landed on the moon? (Yes, we did). While I may be able to answer those two, there is one mystery that I cannot, for the life of me, figure out.
How are the New York Jets this bad?
Seriously, if someone can give me an answer, I will gladly take them, because I simply do not understand. Email me: john.simmons@outkick.com.
Through 11 games, the Jets have won a miserable three games – two of which were against the woeful New England Patriots and the terrible Tennessee Titans.
