There are some pretty great mysteries in the world: Was Atlantis real? (It definitely was). Have we really landed on the moon? (Yes, we did). While I may be able to answer those two, there is one mystery that I cannot, for the life of me, figure out.
How are the New York Jets this bad?
Seriously, if someone can give me an answer, I will gladly take them, because I simply do not understand. Email me: john.simmons@outkick.com.
Through 11 games, the Jets have won a miserable three games – two of which were against the woeful New England Patriots and the terrible Tennessee Titans.

John Beckwith and Jeremy Grey would be pleased to know that the wedding crashing business is thriving in Northeast Ohio.
Earlier this week, Cleveland Cavaliers players unintentionally found themselves crashing a wedding party’s photos along the banks of Lake Erie.
Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, Issac Okoro and Jaylon Tyson were on hand for a couple’s big day. Though, not by design. The Cavs were outside The Cleveland Museum of Art for a photo shoot promoting the team’s new City Edition threads.

The Cavs are threatening the longest season-opening winning streak in NBA history.
LeBron James is long gone, but the Cleveland Cavaliers are once again looking like an NBA championship contender. The Cavs moved to 10-0 on the young season after blasting the Golden State Warriors on Friday night in a showdown of former rivals who have reinvented themselves to become elite once again. Cleveland is now the 14th team in league history to start a season with ten straight wins, and nothing about it feels like a fluke.
When it rains over at the NBA’s disciplinary offices, it pours.
Sunday’s headlines around the NBA were dominated by the fines, including a hefty fee for LaMelo Ball for using a ‘derogatory term.’
Another star caught in the league’s crossfire was Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, who was fined $35,000 for making an ‘obscene gesture.’
Just how bad was Edwards’ crime?
Edwards flipped off Sacramento Kings fans on Friday night during the first quarter of a 130-126 overtime win for Minnesota.

Well, this is not how the San Francisco 49ers‘ season was supposed to go. Easily the favorite in the NFC West, and a favorite to win the NFC entering the season, the 49ers find themselves at 5-5 after a heartbreaking loss Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
Trailing by four points in the final minutes, Geno Smith led the Seahawks on a game-winning drive and ran in the winning score with 12 seconds on the clock.
It’s a tough loss for the 49ers, who entered the game as six-point home favorites but couldn’t win the game outright.
You know how in politics they say the cover-up is always worse than crime? We’re seeing that Sunday with the NFL’s reaction to the Trump Dance, particularly in the case of the Las Vegas Raiders and Brock Bowers.
Bowers is a rookie tight end, who had an historic day in that he caught 13 passes for 126 yards and one touchdown against the Miami Dolphins. And those 13 catches are the most by a rookie tight end since at least 1960, according to the Raiders.
And after his touchdown, Bowers celebrated by doing the Trump Dance as his celebration.
And that’s when the cover-ups began.
Bills star Josh Allen delivered perhaps the Play of the Year late against Kansas City to end their unbeaten season
Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Buffalo Bills needed one more big play from Josh Allen to knock off Patrick Mahomes and company.
And they got it.
With just over three minutes remaining, the Bills held a 23-21 lead over the Chiefs but faced a critical decision.
Josh Allen’s late 26-yard TD run on fourth down sealed Buffalo’s win and handed Kansas City its first loss after a 9-0 start.

For the second time in the past four weeks, the Atlanta Falcons replaced veteran Kirk Cousins with rookie Michael Penix at quarterback.
In both games, the Falcons got completely blasted by their opponents. In Week 7, they lost to Seattle 34-14.
Penix replaced Cousins late in the contest and only threw one pass.
But Sunday, the Denver Broncos took a 38-6 lead with nine minutes left in the game. Atlanta head coach Raheem Morris then went to the rookie to give Penix an extended chance to play in an NFL game.
Penix went 2-for-4 passing for 24 yards. He also took a sack.

We’ve all seen the Philadelphia Eagles run the “Brotherly Shove;” that ethically-questionable, consistently effective play where it seems like they get literally everyone on the team to shove quarterback Jalen Hurts forward.
If you’re an Eagles fan, you love it. If you’re anyone else (and especially an opposing d-lineman) this play is wildly frustrating. Should the NFL ban it? No. Is it still almost impossible to stop and therefore the ban of the existence of 31 defenses. Yes.

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton had to do some damage control after posting a comment on Instagram, which some saw as a shot at the franchise.

Phil Longo’s time at Wisconsin is over.
Wisconsin Badgers head coach Luke Fickell announced Sunday night that the team’s offensive coordinator had been fired following a 16-13 loss to the Oregon Ducks.
“This morning, I informed Phil Longo that he will no longer serve as our offensive coordinator. After continuing to evaluate the program, I decided we are not where we need to be and believe this decision is in the best interest of the team. I appreciate Phil’s commitment to helping us build our program over the past two seasons and wish him well moving forward.

Democratic Rep. Seth Moulton continues to face backlash for breaking party lines when it comes to transgender athletes in women’s sports.
After Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 Election, Moulton spoke out against his own party for making too much of an effort to champion trans inclusion in women’s sports, and he blamed that ideology as one reason for losing the election.
“Democrats spend way too much time trying not to offend anyone rather than being brutally honest about the challenges many Americans face,” Moulton told The New York Times.

If you’re a sports fan, you know all about rivalries. As a Boston sports fan, I certainly do: Red Sox-Yankees, Celtics-Lakers, Bruins-Canadiens. (Jeez, Boston has a ton of hated enemies. Is it because we’re that good, or are we just spiteful jerks that love picking fights?)
One of the biggest in the NFL is the one between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers. This rivalry doesn’t just go back a few decades, it goes back over a century. These two teams have been playing since 1921 (before the Great Depression or World War II) and have squared off over 200 times.

The Los Angeles Sparks drew the No. 2 pick, the Chicago Sky No. 3, and the Washington Mystics No. 4.
The results are in: the Dallas Wings will own the No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. That means they’ll likely draw Paige Bueckers, the University of Connecticut star who was named National Player of the Year as a freshman, and has since solidified herself as an outstanding two-way point guard. This season, Bueckers is averaging 21.3 points per game on 65% shooting, alongside 4 assists and 3.5 rebounds.
