The San Jose State University Spartans women’s volleyball team beat Colorado State on Saturday to move into first place in the Mountain West Conference. And once again, transgender player Blaire Fleming was instrumental in securing the win, using biological advantages to dominate against female athletes.
Fleming had 24 kills in the match and finished off the match with a game-winning service ace.
Fleming’s fellow players mobbed the court, celebrating, even those involved in the lawsuit alleging that Fleming set up a purposeful spike to the face of Brooke Slusser.

The Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight is in the books and while the focus of the entire evening was the fight itself, an interesting sub-plot had to do with the event being Netflix‘s first foray into live sports.
Sure, I’d count that Joey Chestnut vs. Takeru Kobayashi hotdog-eating contest on Labor Day as its first big sporting event, but I guess the Tyson-Paul fight was just a tad bigger, and the numbers reflect that.
The streaming giant announced that the fight had been viewed in 60 million households.

Three weeks ago, the LSU football team was riding high. It was undefeated in SEC play, on a six-game winning streak following its opening weekend out-of-conference loss to USC and in control of its own destiny in the race for the College Football Playoff.
Three weeks later, things have changed. The Tigers dropped their third straight game on Saturday night in Gainesville, Florida, where they lost to a sub-.500 Gators team 27-16 that rattled off 17 of the game’s final 20 points.
As a result, the knives are out and pointed directly at third-year head coach Brian Kelly.
Fair? For sure.

The USC Trojans and Nebraska Cornhuskers have been two of the most disappointing teams in college football this season. Mostly thanks to their remarkable inability to close out games in the fourth quarter when the score is tight.
And as mediocre teams, they frequently manage to find themselves in close games late in the fourth quarter. Sure enough, who would have ever guessed, Saturday’s game between the two new Big Ten rivals wound up being a close game late in the fourth quarter.

It’s not uncommon to see NHL teams get a little cagey when it comes to divulging details of their roster, but we got a new level of that from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night.
The Pens play the San Jose Sharks on Saturday evening, and before the game, the team shared some roster info on X that they said came straight from head coach Mike Sullivan.
The first piece of info was that defenseman Kris Letang would be out of the lineup with an illness. That’s a shame and the Penguins could certainly use him on their blueline.

The Gators are 5-5 and have a game vs. 1-9 Florida State to end the season.

The Purdue Boilermakers have a tough one this week with the Penn State Nittany Lions paying a visit to West Lafayette.
So, with Penn State coming in as such a heavy favorite, Purdue needed to take an opportunity they could get to stick some points on the board.
It certainly looked like they had found one of those moments… if the end zone was a yard or two longer.
In the second quarter, Purdue found themselves on Penn State’s 5-yard line.

The USC Trojans and Nebraska Cornhuskers aren’t exactly historic rivals. The two schools have played in football just five times, with the last matchup coming 10 years ago in the Holiday Bowl. USC won that game 45-42, but both coaching staffs have turned over multiple times since.
But with SC and Nebraska now both members of the Big Ten Conference, they’re set to play a lot more frequently in future seasons. And if the pregame warmups ahead of Saturday’s meeting at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum are any indication, it might turn into a rivalry pretty quickly.
