The NFL’s annual chase for veteran quarterbacks begins when the Indianapolis Scouting Combine opens on Tuesday and sets the stage for general managers, coaches and agents to scheme how to match starters with new teams.
This year’s scheming around Indianapolis comes with the added hope that maybe there’s a big prize at the end of the exercise, because last year the Seattle Seahawks began to gather information that led to them trading their starting quarterback Geno Smith and feeling out new starter Sam Darnold’s free agency price point at the Combine.

Whether you feel it starts with the big guys blocking up front on the offensive line or the rushers in the backfield, we can all agree the New Orleans Saints run game needs improvement. Being able to lean on them would make life much, much easier for second-year quarterback Tyler Shough. Whether it’s forcing teams to crowd the line of scrimmage or pummeling defenses into exhaustion, a strong run game can put Shough and his receiving corps into favorable situations.
One free agent running back to watch out for is Pittsburgh Steelers breakout Kenneth Gainwell.

The arithmetic of Europe can feel abstract until results begin to shape the road ahead. Now, with Galatasaray’s emphatic first leg victory, the possibilities feel sharper, as reported by Liverpool.com.
Arne Slot’s side have avoided the play off round by finishing in the top eight during the league phase. That buffer matters. It allows Liverpool to watch events unfold rather than scramble through an additional tie.

Instead, as Team Canada zeroes in on medal contention, Bedard is rested and ready to take faceoffs again for the Blackhawks.

KALYANI: Jammu and Kashmir stand on the brink of history. They have ample reason to believe they can make their maiden Ranji Trophy final as Bengal dug their own grave on Day Three of the Ranji semifinal at the Bengal Cricket Academy (BCA) ground here on Tuesday.
Bengal batters made a complete mess of the situation even after managing a 26-run first-innings lead after bowling out the visitors for 302 at the lunch break on Tuesday.
However, what followed was beyond the credible. In a blink-and-miss second session of play, Bengal were reduced to 77/6 in 20 overs at tea.
Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni talked to the press after Real Madrid’s controversial 0-1 win in Lisbon and shared his thoughts on the Prestianni-Vinicius incident.
“The truth is that it cannot happen. We’ve been told that the boy called him ‘monkey’ with the shirt covering his mouth. Then he says he didn’t say anything, that he said ‘faggots’, but it doesn’t matter. We’ve talked as a team and Vini told us we had to keep playing. I don’t know what to say. We’ll talk. That cannot happen,” said the midfielder.

Vinicius Junior scored the only goal as Real Madrid beat Benfica 1-0 away in Lisbon in the first leg of their Champions League play-off.
However, the match was overshadowed by controversy. After scoring early in the second half with a powerful shot into the top corner, Vinicius celebrated by dancing in front of the home fans and was given a yellow card.
Soon after, Benfica’s Gianluca Prestianni appeared to say something to him. Vinicius reported to the referee, Francois Letexier, that he had been called “mono” (Spanish for monkey).
A dominant India will be hoping that Abhishek Sharma rediscovers his destructive form and that the rest of the batting lineup steps up against spin when they take on the Netherlands in their final T20 World Cup league match on Wednesday. Despite being one of the most dangerous batters over the past 18 months, Abhishek has yet to make a big impact in the ICC event at home.
After a duck in the opener, a stomach infection kept him out against Namibia. He returned for the high-stakes clash with Pakistan but again failed to score.
Barcelona teenager beats Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. in headline stat
Lamine Yamal may have faced a frustrating night against Girona, but the Barcelona winger continues to prove that setbacks do not define him.
The teenager missed a penalty against Girona recently, yet, instead of shrinking under the spotlight, the Barcelona star was continuously trying to change the game.
At the start of the second half, Yamal came out with clear intent. He repeatedly attacked down the right flank, looking to make up for his earlier mistake.

🚨 UEFA already investigating Prestianni’s racist incident against Vinícius
The tension experienced in the last encounter between Benfica and Real Madrid has reached the offices in Nyon.
Following the public complaint by Vinícius Jr on the field, UEFA has issued an official statement to clarify its stance on the alleged racist insults made by the Argentine player Gianluca Prestianni.
According to the Brazilian’s account, the Benfica player called him “monkey” while covering his mouth with his shirt to avoid being caught by the cameras.
Pakistan’s T20 World Cup campaign has reached a critical juncture. A win against Namibia in their final league fixture on Wednesday is non-negotiable if Salman Agha’s men are to keep their Super 8 hopes alive. Anything less, and their tournament ends prematurely.
The pressure has mounted quickly. After bold claims that this was a stronger outfit than the one that faltered against India in the Asia Cup, Pakistan suffered a familiar 61-run defeat on Sunday. While their clashes with India in the 2022 and 2024 T20 World Cups were tight, they still fell short.
