The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday night by a final score of 71-69.
The Tide entered the matchup fresh off an elite performance against Mississippi State, as Alabama defeated the Bulldogs 100-75. Alabama got off to a slow start offensively against the Volunteers, but the Tide were able to heat up in the second half of play to secure a massive road victory in Knoxville.

The Oklahoma Sooners earned their sixth win in a row to move to 17-2 on the season with a 10-2 win over Sam Houston State in the first of two games on Saturday. Transfer pitcher Sydney Berzon went 4.1 innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two.
Berzon shut the Bearcats out through the first four innings of the game before allowing two in the final frame. Oklahoma responded with three in the bottom of the fifth to walk it off and earn the run-rule win.
Kasidid Pickering, Kendall Wells, and Allyssa Parker hit home runs for the Sooners.

No. 1 Tennessee (18-0) defeated North Carolina Central (1-16), 8-0, in five innings on Saturday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium in the Tennessee Invitational.
Erin Nuwer started for Tennessee and pitched three innings. She totaled five strikeouts, 40 pitches, including 28 strikes, against 10 batters. Nuwer allowed one walk.
Sage Mardjetko pitched two innings in relief. She did not allow a hit or run. Mardjetko allowed one wild pitch and totaled four strikeouts and 28 pitches (17 strikes).

Bryce Lance — yes, that Lance — has a chance to be a highly productive wide receiver in the 2026 NFL Draft class.
He showed out at the NFL Combine on Saturday in Indianapolis to make his case with some great testing numbers, particularly his 40-yard dash time.
Lance ran the 40 in 4.34 seconds.
He also had a vertical leap of 41.5 inches.
His broad jump? 11 feet, 1 inch.

It’s weird to see a qualifying session that somehow made you say, “Yeah, that’s about how I expected that to pan out,” and also, “Holy crap, what did I just see?” But that was what we got to kick off the 2026 NTT IndyCar season.
Let’s start with what we may have expected: Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin will lead the field to green in the No. 3 Chevrolet.

EVANSVILLE — The Indiana high school boys swimming and diving season is complete.
The state tournament concluded on Saturday, Feb. 28 with the IHSAA state championship at the Indiana University Natatorium in downtown Indianapolis. Carmel High School extended its title streak to 12 years as the Greyhounds totaled 408 team points to out-distance Penn (247) and Homestead (201).

Southwestern Indiana was represented with a handful of individuals and relay teams.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — Tramon Mark had 23 points and Dailyn Swain added a double-double in Texas’ 76-70 win over Texas A&M on Saturday afternoon.
Swain finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds in posting his seventh double-double this season for the Longhorns (18-11, 9-7 Southeastern Conference). Jordan Pope scored 16 and Matas Vokietaitis added 14.
The Aggies (19-10, 9-7) were led by Rashun Agee with 22 points and eight rebounds. Marcus Hill totaled 17 points and eight rebounds, while Pop Isaacs scored 14.

A quick start by the Brewers with a 4-1 lead after three innings fizzled out not long thereafter and Milwaukee fell to Cincinnati, 9-7, on Saturday afternoon at American Family Fields of Phoenix.
The Brewers chased Reds starter Hunter Greene before he could even record an out, racking up five straight hits against the right-hander. Milwaukee went on to score four times in the first inning, with Greene returning to pitch the second and complete his day.
Andrew Vaughn led the Brewers (4-5) with a 3-for-3 day at the plate.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Kelvin Yeboah’s rebound goal and Drake Callender’s four saves gave Minnesota United FC a 1-0 win over Cincinnati FC on Saturday.
After a free kick was given inches outside of the 18-yard box, Tomás Chancalay’s set piece bounced off a wall of Cincinnati defenders and rebounded off the right post. Yeboah followed the shot and headed it in in the 66th minute.
Callender made a host of key saves for Minnesota (1-1-0, 4 points), including a leaping save on a shot from Obinna Nwobodo in the 71st minute.
