A member of the gold medal-winning U.S. men’s hockey team on Wednesday admitted regret about laughing at President Donald Trump’s joke aimed at the women’s team in the aftermath of victory over Canada.
Asked about the “negative reaction” while speaking to reporters in Boston, goaltender Jeremy Swayman said: “We should have reacted differently. We know that.”

Defensive tackle Peter Woods’s visit to the Scouting Combine won’t include any on-field work.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Woods will not be working out in Indianapolis this week. Woods, who is not dealing with a known injury, is expected to participate in drills at Clemson’s Pro Day workout on March 12 instead.
Woods spent the last three years at Clemson and recorded 84 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, five sacks and two forced fumbles.

Fernando Mendoza is practically assured of going first overall in the NFL Draft, mostly because he plays quarterback, but there have been plenty of opinions over who is the best prospect in this draft regardless of position.
Caleb Downs’ name has come up a few times in those debates.
Downs, a versatile Ohio State safety, had a great season for the Buckeyes, has the measurements that teams seek in a safety and showed all of the skills that can make him an impact defensive player in the NFL. But it’s also rare that a safety is drafted in the top 10.

Fans of the Premier League’s six wealthiest clubs are paying an average of £74 per ticket for each match they attend, while ticket revenues are soaring, according to data from a new report.
The Uefa European club finance and investment landscape report shows that Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham earned an average of 19% more money from selling tickets for home matches in 2025 than in 2024.

The New York Jets have agreed to trade pass rusher Jermaine Johnson to the Tennessee Titans for defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press on Thursday.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the player-for-player swap of starting players cannot become official until the start of the NFL’s new league year on March 11.
ESPN and NFL Network first reported the deal.

For NFL Draft fans, there is nothing quite like the NFL combine. The testing is not much in terms of action, but regardless, it gets you on the edge of your seat for the first time since the Super Bowl.
On Thursday, we get to see two position groups on the field with actual testing in the defensive line and linebackers. Both are positions that the Bucs could use some help at this draft cycle, so we wanted to give you some players to watch today when testing begins at 3:00 p.m. EST on NFL Network.

The Miami Dolphins have eight draft picks in the 2026 NFL Draft — including five in the top-100 of the selection process. Jon-Eric Sullivan, the team’s new general manager, has already stated that he’d like to add a couple more picks to his arsenal.

HOUSTON — With 26 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals, All-Star center Alperen Sengun stuffed the stat sheet in leading the Rockets to a dominant 128-97 victory (recap) over the Sacramento Kings.’
The 23-year-old connected on 9-of-13 shots (69.2%), including 1-of-2 from 3-point range, and he also made 7-of-8 free throws (87.5%).
For Sengun, Wednesday’s performance was his third triple-double of the 2025-26 season and the 11th of his career, which ranks as third-most in franchise history. Only James Harden (46) and Hakeem Olajuwon (14) have more.

The NFL combine is not only an event for prospects to meet with teams; teams are all gathered together. Closed-door meetings include deals for trades and other details exchanged.
One hot topic has been the Philadelphia Eagles’ wide receiver A.J. Brown. Brown has been noticeably frustrated with the team and his role.

It also doesn’t help that their head coach was non-committal on his future. Enter Brown’s former head coach: New England’s Mike Vrabel.

The men’s Olympic hockey team is being celebrated by proud and patriotic Americans after beating Canada for the gold medal. It’s an incredibly pro-America moment that gives people something to be unbelievably proud of.
Unfortunately, Trump cracking a joke about inviting the women’s team to D.C. has now led to five days of outrage.
To be clear, the outrage isn’t coming from regular people who have functioning brains.

Right now, Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed — all three founding members — are out injured. Reed will 100% miss WrestleMania 42. Bron will almost certainly be unable to wrestle in Las Vegas on the April super-show. And even former Vision leader Seth Rollins, who underwent shoulder surgery last fall, may well miss his targeted ‘Mania return.

In his recent seven-round 2026 NFL mock draft for Pro Football Sports Network, Alec Elijah has the Denver Broncos adding four playmakers on offense and five reinforcements on defense.
In the first round of his mock draft, Elijah projects Ohio State defensive lineman Kayden McDonald (6-3, 326 pounds) landing in Denver at pick No. 30.
“Kayden McDonald brings the power, technique, and instincts to make an immediate impact on Denver’s defense,” Elijah wrote for PFSN.

ALGONAC — This won’t be the first time coach Brian Ranger has taken the Algonac High School wrestling team to the MHSAA state finals.
The Muskrats were there in 2023, when they reached the Division 3 state semifinals. But what Algonac didn’t foresee was a three-year wait to return.
“I don’t think we quite realized what we had accomplished and how hard it is to get there,” Ranger said. “The last two years ended in heartbreak.
