Isaac Heath completes move to Cambridge Utd

Winger Isaac Heath has completed a permanent move away from Everton to join Cambridge United for an undisclosed fee after spending last season on loan at Accrington Stanley.
Heath, who joined the Toffees aged 13, developed through the Club’s Academy ranks before becoming a regular with Everton Under-18s during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.

The Texas A&M Aggies have made another addition to their loaded 2027 recruiting class, securing a commitment from Australian punter Jamie Sidebottom, according to TexAgs.
Sidebottom officially visited the Aggies over the weekend and made his commitment on Monday. He is the second specialist that Mike Elko and Co. have landed in June, three-star kicker Andres von der Meden committed on June 8.
Texas A&M has the top-ranked recruiting class in the country, due to both its size and caliber of players. They have 22 commitments, the third most in the SEC, but their average player rating of 90.

CINCINNATI (AP) — Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz could go on a rehab assignment this weekend if the next couple of days go according to plan.
De La Cruz — who has been sidelined since June 1 due to a right hamstring strain — ran the bases and took some infield grounders before Monday night’s game against the New York Mets. He will run the bases again on Tuesday before a final decision is made.
Manager Terry Francona said the likely rehab assignment would be to Triple-A Louisville, which is at Gwinnett this week.

We recently found out that New York Knicks owner James Dolan had delivered a speech to his team prior to its improbable run to the NBA Finals and first title since 1973.
The part of the reported speech that caught everyone’s attention was Dolan jokingly telling his players to abstain from having sex for the duration of the playoff run.
“They were a little surprised, but the words hit,” a source told SNY’s Ian Begley of the players’ reaction to Dolan’s request.
While we weren’t able to watch the entire speech before, we can now.

But first we are going to take a look at athletes in their individual sports.

SEATTLE — Egypt will have to wait a little longer for its first World Cup win. Despite going up early against Belgium to kick off Group G play, the Red Devils were able to snatch back an equalizer against the Pharaohs after forcing an own goal in the second half.
Monday afternoon’s game marked the first World Cup match in Seattle Stadium (normally Lumen Field), with the matchup setting up a packed, red-decked crowd — the color of both team’s primary jerseys.
Eye test-wise, more of those red dots were Belgian fans.

One of the biggest sporting events on the planet is about to begin.

ATLANTA — When Josimar Dias was a young lad growing up in Cape Verde, he loved soccer so much that he’d play with older boys, even though they’d taunt and tease him. They’d push him around, beat him up, and he would respond in the worst way possible: telling them he was going to tattle on them to his grandparents. Naturally, they started calling him “Vozinha,” or “granny” in Portuguese. 
But Josimar dried his tears and, later, decided to claim the nickname as his own. And nobody’s laughing at little Vozinha now.

Walls joined the Gators last offseason as a transfer from the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors after being named the 2025 Big West Freshman Pitcher of the Year behind a 3.73 ERA and a 45-to-15 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He appeared in 15 games with 13 starts, compiling a 3.73 ERA across 60.1 innings, while striking out 45 batters against 15 walks.

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente tried to stay calm after the World Cup favourites were humbled 0-0 by debutants Cape Verde in their Group H opener on Monday.
The result in Atlanta is the biggest shock of the tournament so far in North America after the island nation from the African confederation put in a remarkable defensive performance.
