And just like that, another Masters is gone.
If you’re like me, there is a moment every Masters Sunday, amidst all the inevitable and glorious chaos, when a brief feeling of dread takes over. The golf is phenomenal, the scenes are familiar, the leaderboard is tight, but you know you’re running out of time.
Running out of time to watch the best golfers in the world play the greatest golf course in the world, and running out of time in the game called life.
One big reason why the Atlanta Falcons haven’t been back to the playoffs since 2017 is their relatively poor returns in the draft. While they hit on Bijan Robinson and Drake London, other first-round picks have either totally failed on the field like Takk McKinley, derailed their careers with off-field issues like James Pearce Jr. or come up short of expectations.
The last of those scenarios applies to tight end Kyle Pitts, who Atlanta took at No. 4 overall back in 2021. Since then Pitts has appeared in 78 games for the Falcons, putting up 284 catches, 3,579 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Rory McIlroy won the Masters on Sunday, his second straight green jacket in a row. Just think about how impossible a sentence like that sounded even 13 months ago. We live in a seriously-adjusted new reality.
On First Take, Stephen A.
Love him or hate him, Rory McIlroy is what golf needs right now. Every sport needs a villain (or hero, depending on where you stand), and Rory has beautifully filled those shoes.
He’s now a back-to-back Masters champion, and both times have come with a heaping helping of drama.
Of course, Sunday’s final hole was bungled so badly by CBS, I’m not sure anyone fully appreciated this one.
For those who missed it, Rory needed a simple bogey on 18 to win his second straight Masters.

MADRID (AP) — Needing to defend a two-goal lead against Barcelona to reach its first Champions League semifinal in nearly a decade, Atletico Madrid could see goalkeeper Jan Oblak make his return to the starting lineup after being sidelined for more than a month because of a muscle injury.
Atletico hosts Barcelona on Tuesday in the second leg of the quarterfinals, hoping to return to the last four in the top European club competition for the first time since 2017. It won the first match 2-0 in Barcelona last week.
PREVIEW: Liverpool hoping for special display to overturn PSG
Liverpool will welcome Paris Saint-Germain to Anfield tomorrow night as they look to overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg in the French capital last week.
Should the Reds fail to advance to the next round, this will be Andy Robertson’s and Mohamed Salah’s final Champions League game in a Liverpool shirt, as both players are set to depart at the end of the season.
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Doc Rivers is stepping down as Milwaukee Bucks coach, capping a tumultuous year in which he was inducted into the Hall of Fame while his injury-riddled team fell far short of expectations.
“I have truly loved my time in Milwaukee,” Rivers said Monday in a statement released by the team. “Coming back to where I got my start, to a city that has always embraced me, has been a privilege.
Romero likely to miss Spurs final run-in due to injury
Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a fresh injury blow with reports that Cristián Romero is at risk of playing another game for the relegation-threatened side this season.
The defender was injured on Sunday after a collision with goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky as he was shielding the ball from the on-rushing Brian Brobbey.
While Kinsky escaped with a head wound, Romero needed to be replaced by Kevin Danso with Spurs ultimately going on to lose the game 1-0.

Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi is increasingly exploring his options for a move to a Premier League rival.
The 28-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, meaning he has been permitted to speak to clubs in Europe about a potential free transfer since 1 January.
However, several European clubs, including reportedly Juventus, have shown serious interest without yet agreeing a pre-contract deal.

Arbeloa considering starting Real Madrid academy gem over 23-year-old star vs Bayern Munich
Real Madrid could be set for a major midfield shake-up ahead of their decisive Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.
According to Mario Cortegana via The Athletic, manager Alvaro Arbeloa is seriously considering a surprise decision – starting academy talent Thiago Pitarch ahead of Eduardo Camavinga.
With Aurelien Tchouameni suspended after accumulating yellow cards, the natural expectation was for Camavinga to step into the holding midfield role.
Maximum caution – Barcelona starlet can only play 15-20 minutes vs Atletico Madrid
FC Barcelona will lock horns with Atletico Madrid tomorrow in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
Ahead of the contest, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick announced the squad list of players he will be taking along for the trip to Madrid.
Interestingly, teenage midfielder Marc Bernal has been included in the squad despite not receiving his medical clearance yet.
Three top clubs interested in El Aynaoui
Neil El Aynaoui was one of Roma’s most expensive signings in the last summer transfer window.
However, the Moroccan midfielder failed to live up to the initial expectations placed on him.
Having arrived amidst concerns from some fans after the failed acquisition of Rios, the 2001-born midfielder was acquired from Lens for €23.5 million.
He never managed to secure a regular starting spot, often with disappointing performances.

Always a tough ask when you put NASCAR up against The Masters, but at least they tried, right? I mean, it’s Bristol, baby! If any track is gonna give Augusta a run for its money, it’s Bristol, right?
Right?!
Yikes. Not a great race. Not a great crowd, as you’ll see. This Next Gen car has just completely ruined short tracks, hasn’t it? I know I’ve said it a dozen times now, but every time we go back — especially to a place as sacred as Bristol — we’re reminded that the track just doesn’t have its fastball anymore.

The NBA’s 65-game rule is wreaking havoc on the awards landscape to end the 2025-26 season.
There is no position in the NFL draft that garners attention like the quarterback. Even though this is considered a pretty meager overall quarterback class, there is always intrigue about who will land where.
So, we’re going to conduct a quarterback mock draft through the seven-round process. Here we go:
First-round quarterback
1 overall: Fernando Mendoza, Indiana, Las Vegas Raiders
Slam dunk. The Raiders badly need a franchise quarterback. Mendoza is the quarterback at the position worthy of a top pick. It’s done.

Pressure Builds Despite Strong Foundations
Arne Slot’s tenure at Liverpool has quickly become a study in modern football impatience. Success, it seems, is no longer a destination but a demand repeated endlessly, week after week. Yet beneath the noise, there is a compelling argument that Slot’s work at Liverpool has not been afforded the credit it merits.
The narrative around Liverpool this season has tilted towards scrutiny.
CHENNAI: The frustration had been building, but it has now vanished. One show of swagger from Chennai Super Kings’ new recruit Sanju Samson against a competitive Delhi Capitals at Chepauk on Saturday has reignited belief in the camp.
Sanju’s unbeaten 115 off 56 balls, his first major statement in CSK colours, showcased everything that makes him a prized T20 batter. There was no rush, no overindulgence in big hitting, no desperation to clear the ropes. Instead, he trusted his strengths, constructing a high-quality innings against a strong attack.

The countdown to the 2026 World Cup is on! Each day ahead of the tournament’s return to North America, Yahoo Sports will highlight an insight or moment that showcases just how grand the world’s biggest sporting spectacle has become — even beyond the expanded field of this year’s global event.
David Beckham will be remembered as one of the greatest players of all time, with a special place of pride in English football history. But early in his career, there was one moment that overshadowed all of his other success: a brutal red card in the knockout round of the 1998 World Cup.
DUESSELDORF, Germany (AP) — A German soccer club has made an eye-catching change, firing one coach whose name means “beginning” and hiring one whose name means “end.”
Second division Fortuna Duesseldorf said Sunday it was parting company with Markus Anfang, whose surname translates from German as “beginning” or “start”, and bringing in Alexander Ende, or “end”, for the last five games of the season.
That prompted jokes on German social media and speculation about how Ende’s task will be to stop the end of Fortuna’s time in the division.
2026 has kicked off in an extremely interesting way for the New Orleans Saints, as they lost two critical defensive pieces early in free agency. With Demario Davis and Alontae Taylor now out of the fold, the Saints have some work to do on defense after spending much of their cap on offense early on. The cornerback room specifically was already in need of some additional pieces, with Kool-Aid McKinstry and Quincy Riley being the only two high-snap corners on the team.
Following a morning shootaround in Phoenix on March 21, multiple league sources tell The Athletic that Rivers called a group of veteran players together for a meeting in Mortgage Matchup Center, while the rest of the team got shots up after shootaround out on the floor. Per multiple sources with knowledge of the situation, Rivers then went on to inform the veteran players that he believed they had failed him this season and questioned the group’s commitment, conditioning, focus and leadership.
Tom Orsborn: Keldon Johnson told me him and Julian Champagnie playing in all 82 is a “testament to an amazing medical staff.” He then proceeded to list each one. “Their work doesn’t go unnoticed,” Keldon said. “It’s one of the main reasons we’re pretty healthy going into the postseason.”
