A wild night at Petco Park was capped off by a walk-off single by way of Manny Machado as the Braves fell to the Padres, 7-6, in 10 innings.
This is a bad baseball team at the moment.
The second inning was a doozy for both sides.
The expectation entering night one of the NBA Draft was that there would be a ton of trades. Well, the first trade didn’t happen until pick 16, and while there was some movement, only draft picks were dealt.
However, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a fun draft. Morez Johnson Jr. to Dallas at pick No. 9 was the first surprise of the night, which reunited him with head coach Dusty May after the pair helped lead Michigan to a National Championship last season.
The Knicks made some cost-cutting moves that may help them retain more of their championship team.

Colombia secured their place in the World Cup round of 32 with a game to spare after a 1-0 victory over DR Congo in Group K on Tuesday, with Daniel Munoz scoring the winner after the South Americans had been frustrated for much of the evening.
Colombia moved to six points from two matches and guaranteed their progress to the knockout stage ahead of their final group game against Portugal, who beat Uzbekistan 5-0 earlier on Tuesday. DR Congo remained on one point and will need a result against Uzbekistan to keep their qualification hopes alive.
Colombia was beating on the door all night, and Congo’s Lionel Mpasi-Nzau could only hold them off for so long.
The goalkeeper delivered a monster outing, holding off a barrage of shots before Colombia’s Daniel Munoz was able to break the scoreless deadlock with a deflected shot from inside the box in the 76th minute.

Neymar is ready for his 2026 World Cup debut.
The Brazil star will be available for Brazil’s third and final World Cup group match against Scotland on Wednesday, June 24, coach Carlo Ancelotti told reporters a day before match day.
“Neymar is available,” Ancelotti said. “He worked this week and can be available for the match. We are very happy that he is back because, obviously, with his quality, he can help the team.”
It’s a big step for the 34-year-old forward, trying to get on the pitch for the national team for the first time in three years.

New York also received cash considerations in the NBA Draft day trade, while the Lakers took Baylor guard Cameron Carr with the No. 24 pick.
De Larrea, a 20-year-old from Valladolid, Spain, has played with Valencia since 2021 and made his senior debut in EuroLeague play at age 17 in 2023. He averaged 9.7 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game over 18.3 minutes in 28 games during the 2025-26 season.

Los Angeles Dodgers and Rams team physician Dr. Neal ElAttrache, the surgeon who performed Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow’s knee surgery in 2020, has been cleared of wrongdoing after a recent MLB inquiry, the New York Times’ Michael S. Schmidt reported June 23.
Schmidt reported June 11 that MLB investigators planned to question ElAttrache, after ElAttrache disclosed that he supported professional mixed martial artist Conor McGregor’s use of performance-enhancing drugs while recovering from injury.
Schmidt reported that MLB considers the matter closed.
