Alexander Ovechkin’s pursuit of The Great One is approaching its final stage. Ovi needs just 22 goals to overtake Wayne Gretzky as the NHL’s all-time leading goal scorer with 895.
Not only is Ovechkin on pace to break the record, he’s also trending to do it ahead of Gretzky. It took 1,487 career games to set the mark in 1999, and considering Ovechkin has 20 goals in 28 games this season he’s set to hit the mark by game 1,454.

TGL’s debut broadcast earlier this month put up more-than-respectable ratings numbers, especially given that Tiger Woods nor Rory McIlroy played in the opening week’s match. The Fever are the latest WNBA team to announce they are building their own state-of-the-art practice facility.
The Indiana Fever announced on Thursday they will officially be building a $78 million, 108-square-foot practice facility in downtown Indianapolis. The facility — which will be ready ahead of the 2027 season — will include two courts, a weight room, a first-class recovery, an outdoor courtyard, and more.

A Texas school district official was caught on camera attempting to utilize “loopholes” in order to allow transgender students to participate in girls’ sports.
A journalist for Accuracy in Media (AIM) went undercover as a parent who wanted her biological boy to play for the girls’ soccer team. She met with Dallas Independent School District (ISD) LGBT Youth Program Coordinator Mahoganie Gaston, who attempted to skirt state laws and regulations in order to make it happen.

The World Leader in Sports averaged one million viewers on Tuesday night, up 9 percent from Jan. 7, when 919,000 viewers tuned in to see New York Golf Club face off against The Bay.
