MONACO (AP) — Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has become a father, he and his wife Alexandra posted on social media Wednesday.
The Leclercs said, in a post which drew messages of congratulations from McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Alpine’s Pierre Gasly, that their daughter was born on Tuesday.
The next Formula 1 race is Sunday’s Sao Paulo Grand Prix in Brazil. Leclerc has reportedly said previously that he would aim to spend as much time as possible at home when his child was born, but that he would try not to miss any races.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) says it removed Rwanda’s army team from its African league because of US sanctions imposed on the country in March.
The NBA had previously said the Rwandan army-funded Armée Patriotique Rwandaise (APR) club would not participate in the 2026 Basketball Africa League (BAL).
However this is the first time the NBA has revealed the reasons behind the APR’s removal.
