The Los Angeles Kings will be without the services of winger Tanner Jeannot for the next three games after he delivered a vicious hit to the head of Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser on Thursday night in Los Angeles.
The hit occurred in the first period as Boeser was skating through the neutral zone and delivered a pass to a teammate near center ice.
As Boeser watched his pass — I wouldn’t say he was necessarily admiring it though — Jeannot stepped into him with a brutal blindside hit, the principal point of contact of which sure seemed to be the Canucks forward’s head.

Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia Suing The NCAA For Another Year Of Eligibility, Hoping To Change JUCO Rules
Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia is suing the NCAA for an additional year of eligibility, which is centered around his time playing junior college and not being able to make money off of his NIL during this time period.
The news was first reported by Chris Lee of VandySports.com on Friday evening. The attorney for Diego Pavia is arguing that since the NCAA counts any junior college seasons towards their eligibility clock, and that since they have no meaningful way to make money in the JuCo ranks, that he should be given another year of eligibility.

I’m sure you’ve heard stories of incidents that occur on plane rides that force a pilot to make a judgment call, but I bet you’ve never heard of an athletic team having to abort their travel due to players getting involved in ‘horseplay’ on the trip.
On Friday afternoon, the Auburn basketball team was headed to Houston for its matchup with the Cougars on Saturday night.
The Wyoming Cowgirls volleyball team forfeited its first match against San Jose State last month due to the presence of transgender player Blaire Fleming.
On Friday, the school announced that it would forfeit its second scheduled contest against SJSU, as well.
“The University of Wyoming volleyball team will not play its scheduled conference match at San José State University on Thursday, November 14,” the school wrote in a statement on its official athletics website.
The Carolina Panthers have journeyed over to Germany for a game against the New York Giants (I know; sorry Germans. I’m not sure what you did to deserve this… wait… yes I do; I can think of two things) — and ahead of Sunday’s game at Allianz Arena in Munich Panthers owner David Tepper was sharing some beers with fans.
Tepper and his wife, Nicole, hosted a fan fest event in Munich that featured some Panthers franchise greats including Julius Peppers, Steve Smith Sr, Luke Kuechly, Thomas Davis, and Jon Beason.

The Los Angeles Dodgers just won the World Series, have Shohei Ohtani locked up for the next nine seasons, and one of the top farm systems in baseball. And they might be looking to get even better in 2025.
It’s yet to be determined if 23-year-old Japanese phenom Roki Sasaki will be posted to sign with Major League teams this offseason, but regardless, a new report puts the Dodgers at the front of the list to make a deal for the other top starting pitcher available.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are traveling to Baton Rouge tomorrow night to play the LSU Tigers in an epic SEC clash. Since this is one of the biggest games of the year, LSU decided to get an actual Tiger to be on the sideline for the game, which is so based (the tiger’s name is “Omar Bradley”).

Hossler made an ace during the second round of the World Wide Technologies Championship, but it took him a minute to realize what had happened.
Well, here’s a predicament that I wish I could experience.
During the second round of the World Wide Technologies Championship, Beau Hossler made an ace on the par-3 11th hole. Except he did not see it go in.
When he arrived at the tee, he stood at 1-under for the championship, hovering around the cut line.
I’m a sucker for a good hypothetical rule change, and Seattle Kraken goalie Joey Daccord has a good one: what if goalies were allowed to join the rush on a delayed penalty.
Daccord seems like a cool dude, who really made a name for himself with a standout performance in last season’s Winter Classic between the Kraken and the Vegas Golden Knights.
He was a guest on a recent episode of the What Chaos! podcast and it was there that he discussed his idea for an interesting rule change which came from his love of playing in net and as a forward when he was a kid.
The Cowboys executive said he didn’t know if Prescott would be out “four weeks, six weeks or the season.

Joel Dahmen has not had the best of seasons, so he needed a good finish at this week’s event in Mexico. He is in position to do so.
Perhaps nobody playing on the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Fall faces more pressure than Joel Dahmen.
Dahmen, whose popularity has skyrocketed thanks to his Netflix stardom, entered this week’s World Wide Technologies Championship ranked 124th in the FedEx Cup standings.

After a sensational season in L.A., Hernández has set himself up to earn a lucrative, multi-year contract this winter.
Give ESPN credit. The sports network has completely sat out of the 2024 election.
As Puck first reported on Thursday, the network has not mentioned Donald Trump, Kamala Harris, or the election on air this week. ESPN talents have also avoided the topics on their personal social media pages.
The development is surprising.
Despite ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro ensuring staffers and outsiders in 2017 that ESPN is not a “political organization,” the network has long struggled to exclude politics from its sports coverage.
Count Olympic gymnast Simone Biles is one of the many athletes that are distraught over the fact that Donald Trump will be president in 2025.
This isn’t the first time that Biles has shown herself to be an ardent progressive. In 2023, she claimed that her husband didn’t get the same media coverage as Travis Kelce because he is black.
Her progressive leaning culminated in a tweet she posted on Wednesday (the day after Election Day).
Bridges is the Hornets’ second-leading scorer, though he’s averaging seven fewer points per game than last season.
Less than 10 games into the season, Phoenix is atop the West and beginning to look a lot like a Coach Bud team.
New Commanders cornerback Marshon Lattimore won’t play this week against the Steelers, while running back Brian Robinson Jr. did not practice Friday in preparation for Sunday’s game.
New York sportsbooks accepted $2.3 billion in bets in October, a new monthly record for any state.
The Jets are again switching kickers, with Spencer Shrader expected to kick vs. Arizona. They also released Riley Patterson and signed Anders Carlson to the practice squad.
