Luis Tiant, Dick Allen and Tommy John are among eight players on this year’s Classic Era ballot.
The Baseball Hall of Fame has had some form of “Veterans Committee” ballot in its induction process going all the way back to 1939. The committees have taken various forms over the years, but the most recent process breaks up potential candidates into three groups: Contemporary Era players (since 1980), Contemporary Era non-players, and the Classic Era, which includes players and non-players prior to 1980.
The son of seven-year NBA player Jarvis Hayes have been standing out during their high school play.
When it comes to the current era of basketball, sons of former NBA players have been taking the spotlight, headlined by Bronny James, the son of LeBron James who was just taken with the No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
That’s not where the line ends though, as recruits such as Kiyan Anthony, the son of Carmelo Anthony and a four-star in the Class of 2025, have also gotten in the headlines, not only for their namesake, but also their talent.
Texas wide receiver Johntay Cook II is no longer with the program.
Everyone knows the NFL’s “random” drug tests are anything but random. And nothing will get you one faster than what Saquon Barkley did on Sunday.
During the second quarter of the Philadelphia Eagles’ 28-23 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Barkley pulled off a gravity-defying reverse hurdle over Jags’ cornerback Jarrion Jones. The two-time Pro Bowl running back gained 14 yards on the catch and run, which included him shaking off a defender before pulling off a deceiving spin move then backpedaling into the superhuman leap.

Votes are still being counted in the aftermath of Tuesday’s General Election in the United States of America. However, one race that is not in doubt is the race for President. Former President Donald J. Trump was returned to office on Tuesday, putting him in a position to become just the second President in U.S. history along with Grover Cleveland to serve non-consecutive terms.

It looks kind of bleak right now for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, and we’re not even talking about his team’s disappointing 3-5 record.
Prescott is reportedly getting multiple opinions on an injury the Dallas Morning News reported is a partial avulsion of the right hamstring. The newspaper said Prescott is considering season-ending surgery.
But, with respect to the reporting, OutKick medical expert Dr. David Chao says surgery would not be a season-ending procedure.

Kirk Herbstreit’s beloved dog, Ben, has lost his fight with cancer.
Herbstreit recently revealed the dog that college football fans have come to know and love for shadowing him at games was suffering from cancer.
He updated fans Thursday with an announcement nobody wanted to hear. Ben is no longer with him or the fans who enjoy him on TV.
“This is really hard to write but so many of you have loved and cared about Ben that I wanted to let you know.

If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “Wow, that’s a snazzy hat Kirby Smart is wearing,” you’re in luck. Because we now have the secret behind the Georgia head coach‘s wardrobe.
The secret is… shut up and mind your own business.
As his No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs prepare to take on the No. 16 Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday, Smart was all business when speaking with reporters. And he had no time for nonsense questions about his clothing.
I don’t think I’m telling tales out of school when I say that the Nashville Predators are the biggest disappointment of the NHL season so far. Now, it’s so bad, that GM Barry Trotz is even throwing around the word, “rebuild.”
The Predators were one of the league’s best teams through the spring of last season, driven in part by a canceled trip to see U2 at Sphere in Las Vegas, and they worked their way into the playoffs.

Travis Kelce, the professional football player, committed an unthinkable act on social media on Wednesday: he shared photos of him playing football.
Wednesday was, of course, the day after Donald Trump defeated Kamala Harris in the 2024 Presidential Election. Given that Kelce is dating Taylor Swift, who happens to be the most famous person in the world who also endorsed Harris ahead of the election, some folks were absolutely livid with the tight end for sharing photos of him at his place of work.

The 76ers are in the danger zone after Tyese Maxey’s injury.
The Philadelphia 76ers were supposed to be a championship contender this season. Instead, Philly is tied for the worst record in the NBA out of the starting gates, falling to 1-6 on the year after another loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night.
It is no secret why the Sixers are struggling: Joel Embiid still hasn’t played a game as he works his way back from what the team is calling “left knee management.
Stanford’s Dylan Hooper scored one of the best goals you will ever see.
Everyone loves a game-winning goal. The absolute scenes of putting the ball through the net as the game expires is one of the coolest things to see in the sport.
It’s even better when the goal comes from the other half of the field in a stunner, which is exactly how the men’s soccer match between Stanford and Notre Dame ended. With eight seconds left on the clock, Stanford midfielder Dylan Hooper dribbles past a defender and from a little behind midfield, lets a prayer fly.

Stephen A. Smith was not impressed by the Democrats’ strategy for the 2024 Presidential Election. And rightfully so.
Election Night was a disaster for the Democrats. Not only did Vice President Kamala Harris lose decidedly to President-Elect Donald Trump in both the popular vote and the Electoral College, but Republicans also won the Senate and, possibly, retained control of the House, too.

Rory McIlroy made changes to his swing ahead of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, and they seem to have paid off through round one.
Every day for three weeks, Rory McIlroy locked himself in a simulator bay at the Bear’s Club in Florida, practicing and focusing on his swing mechanics, not his ball flight.
He has had nearly a month off, so he wanted to take advantage of this time to improve his technicalities.

DJ Moore has clarified why he walked off the field in the middle of a play on Sunday.
Early in the first quarter of Chicago’s 29-9 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the Bears were driving and faced 2nd-and-6 just beyond midfield. The play broke down, and quarterback Caleb Williams scrambled for his life, desperately trying to find someone open.
Williams eventually rolled to his left, and Moore looked like he was trying to get open for his QB. But once he didn’t get the ball, Moore walked off the field and took off his helmet while the play was still going.

There will not be a coaching search after the 2024 season for the Florida Gators, as athletic director Scott Stricklin announced that Billy Napier will be returning for another year.
This is obviously not the news that some Florida fans wanted to hear after what has been an awkward season in Gaiensville, but for some, this was a move that was needed to keep stability within the program.
Entering the season with an 11-14 record, the Gators were blown-out by Miami in the opener, then looked like a team with all sorts of problems against Texas A&M in the loss.
