League sources tell The Stein Line that Washington has a level interest in Russell Westbrook. The nine-time former All-Star’s final season of the four in his career in which he averaged a triple-double (22.2 PPG, 11.5 RPG and 11.7 APG) came in 2020-21 with the Wizards.

Leonard’s future in Los Angeles is now growing murkier, the Clippers have reportedly emerged as a serious team to watch for Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown. According to ESPN’s Vincent Goodwill, one league executive said the Clippers “want Brown bad,” adding another major name to what has already become one of the NBA’s most active rumor cycles.
Multiple executives still believe Portland could be involved in trade discussions for the Celtics’ Jaylen Brown, and that could be the next big move. Has Morant hit rock bottom? One high-level exec told ESPN over the weekend that he believes Morant’s needs extend beyond basketball. He actually believes, however, that Morant can make a comeback to his old form because of how the guard competes when he’s healthy.
We are examining major incidents and explaining the process in terms of VAR protocol and the laws of the game.
Germany expected Paraguay to be “an uncomfortable opponent,” but the South American side was so much more that it ended Die Mannschaft’s World Cup.

It’s been a long, sometimes strange trip through the United States for Freddy.
But for the viral German soccer fan, the World Cup part of his journey has come to a sudden and crashing end — at least as far as following Germany is concerned.
Germany fell in a Round of 32 stunner to Paraguay on Monday. Defeat in a penalty kick shootout sent the four-time World Cup champions home well short of achieving their intended goal.
In the second stunning penalty shootout of the day, Morocco bested the Netherlands in a thrilling Round of 32 matchup to advance to the next round.
In an often frantic, consistently physical matchup, neither team was able to break through in the first half, despite the Moroccans getting a couple of big chances. The first half certainly had its highlights, but they were all on the defensive end, including back-to-back saves from Netherlands goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.

The News’ Tony Paul gives his quick takes on the Tigers’ 7-3 victory over the Yankees on Monday:
One thing I loved
It should’ve happened weeks ago, but, you know, May. Then it should’ve happened Saturday against his old team, Houston Astros. But it didn’t. Then it should’ve happened Sunday, also against the Astros. But, again, no-go. And, so, AJ Hinch’s milestone moment was delayed, but with Monday night’s clobbering of the Yankees, he finally became the 68th manager in major-league history to reach 1,000 career wins.

Bosnia finished third in Group B, and in their ranks is one player that played for the USMNT at youth level.
NEW YORK – A brutal stretch became even worse for the Yankees early Monday night.
Already trailing 7-0 in the fourth inning to the Detroit Tigers, second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. was forced out of the game due to a collision in shallow right field.
In pursuit of Hao-Yu Lee’s pop fly, caught by Dominguez, the right side of Chisholm’s head struck Dominguez’s extended left arm.
Chisholm stayed on the ground for a few minutes as the Yankees’ athletic training staff attended to him and eventually helped him to his feet and off the field.
Paraguay’s shocking upset over Germany in the round of 32 wasn’t just one of the biggest upsets of the 2026 World Cup, but one of the largest in knockout round history.
What happened at Gillette Stadium was a result not many people saw coming. Paraguay jumped out to an early lead and despite Germany tying the match and threatening a game-winner, it held off another score and emerged victorious in penalty kicks for its first knockout round victory since the 2010 World Cup.
