The 2026 NFL Draft continues to creep closer to its beginning — with the annual selection process kicking off on April 23rd. The Miami Dolphins hold two first round picks this year — starting with pick number 11.

On Monday, one of the draft’s premier defensive backs — cornerback Mansoor Delane out of LSU — will visit with the Miami Dolphins.

Women’s FA Cup semi-final draw: Chelsea could face Man City
The draw for the Women’s FA Cup semi-finals have been made with Chelsea potentially facing Manchester City.
The current WSL leaders are set to face WSL 2 side Birmingham City later today but already know that should they win as expected then they will be facing challengers Chelsea for a spot in the semi-finals after Sonia Bompastor’s side edged past Tottenham Hotspur earlier today.
Meanwhile in the other semi-final Liverpool will take on Brighton & Hove Albion.

In last week’s article, we introduced the following adjusted scores as a way to quantify team pitching matchups for opposing hitters. We used several team-level advanced metrics to weigh and adjust scores. For fun, we included the first week of 2026. However, the 2026 numbers aren’t weighted as much, compared to the significantly larger 2025 sample, as a way to show any early-season differences. 
A lower adjusted score indicates the hitting matchup should be more favorable against those team pitchers.

The Chicago Sky have traded Angel Reese to the Atlanta Dreams, ending her two-year run as the face of the Sky’s franchise. Reese lands in Atlanta in exchange for the Dream’s first-round picks in 2027 and 2028. As part of the trade, Atlanta also receives the right to swap second-round picks with Chicago in 2028.

Shadow Creek fully and totally belonged to Lauren Coughlin this past week.
It was an impressive outing for Coughlin, her third career LPGA Tour victory, and she made matters quite boring with stellar play down the stretch. Shadow Creek always shines, but seeing somebody dominate it makes it all the more fun.

WNBA free agency is officially underway as nearly 80% of the league hits the open market.
On Sunday, April 5, the WNBA announced dates for free agency. Notably, free agency, which typically begins in January, is on a condensed timeline, beginning this week, after the league and its players spent the last 19 months hammering out a new CBA. With the CBA currently in the ratification process, free agency now unfolds in a mad dash towards a May 8 season start date.
The WNBA’s free agency period opens Monday, April 6, starting with the designation period and continuing until April 7.

The new-look Baltimore Ravens got together for the first time Monday, April 6, on the first day of NFL voluntary workouts.
Head coach Jesse Minter and his staff are looking to hit the ground running as the Ravens seek a return to the playoffs.

Still, Baltimore entered the workouts with a big question mark. It’s no secret that two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson is not a fan of voluntary workouts. In 2025, he participated in just one of the team’s nine voluntary sessions.

Vinicius Junior has confirmed that he did not see eye to eye with Xabi Alonso during the latter’s time at Real Madrid. The two had a public spat when the Brazilian was taken off during El Clasico in October, and despite public proclamations to the contrary, it appears their relations remained cold.

Chelsea right-back Reece James could return to action by the end of this month or at the beginning of May, according to The Guardian.
The Chelsea captain picked up another hamstring injury and has missed the club’s last three matches.
The England international (22 caps) managed to stay fit for an extended period following a long battle with persistent injuries.
Unfortunately, he suffered a big blow just days after he signed a contract extension with the Blues.

I Am Maximus and Nick Rockett – the past two winners of the Grand National – head the confirmations for Saturday’s race at Aintree.
The pair, both trained by Willie Mullins, won the race in 2024 and 2025 respectively and top the weights for the 2026 renewal.
I Am Maximus, owned by JP McManus, triumphed by seven and a half lengths in 2024, before finishing two and a half lengths behind Nick Rockett who was victorious under Mullins’ son Patrick last year.

All the weights for the 49 remaining entries for the Grand National at Aintree on 11 April – a maximum of the 34 top-rated horses will line up on the day.

Bristol delivered. It always delivers, but on this Easter Sunday? She rose from the dead and blew our minds. Amazing. 
OK … has the bit gone too far at this point? Probably. But, it’s one of the rare off weeks in NASCAR, which means I’m gonna need to fill some space today. 
So, yes, I vamped just a bit longer than normal, and ran the same joke I always run on our bye weeks. Whatever.

The National League side had reduced capacity to 3,000 for upcoming matches [Woking FC]
A Surrey football club is to significantly decrease its crowd capacity for upcoming home matches while recommended enhancements are implemented and assessed.
Woking FC, which competes in the National League, has reduced its capacity from around 6,000 to 3,000.
The club said since its home fixture against Aldershot Town in late March, which required an “increased level of match day oversight”, it has been working closely with the local Safety Advisory Group.

The Baltimore Ravens kick off their offseason program Monday at the Under Armor Performance Center, where first-year head coach Jesse Minter will welcome a fresh new coaching staff and an overhauled roster after losing over a dozen free agents.
Baltimore midst of a potential franchise-altering offseason, where general manager Eric DeCosta has made some big moves as he continues to create another Super Bowl window. That included the decision to move on from Tyler Linderbaum, Isaiah Likely, and others, while backing out of a trade for Maxx Crosby.

Real Madrid rely on history ahead of crucial Bayern Munich encounter
Real Madrid and Bayern Munich meet once again in the UEFA Champions League, this time in the quarter-finals.
The first leg of the tie will take place on Tuesday, 7 April, at the Santiago Bernabeu, with the second leg scheduled for a week later on 15 April at the Allianz arena.
Real Madrid approach the match under pressure after their recent defeat to RCD Mallorca, a result that has effectively ended their hopes of winning La Liga this season.
