The tournament featured a 64-team field from 1989 to 2010 and expanded to 68 teams with the initial First Four round in 2011. But recent reports have indicated there is ongoing speculation the NCAA could further expand the tournament to showcase no more than 80 teams.
Calipari, who has taken Kentucky to the Big Dance in 12 of his 15 seasons at the helm, is not a fan of that idea.

The Miami Heat’s offense is clogged. And the plunger needed to clear everything up may be … Bam Adebayo’s three-point shot?
If you’ve watched the Heat over the last couple of seasons, then you know their biggest issue is scoring. Miami finished 25th in offensive rating in 2023. The Heat are 24th this season, basically only ahead of teams that haven’t been taken seriously all season. In fact, since Jimmy Butler arrived in ’19, Miami has had only one season in the top 10 in offensive efficiency.
Some NFL draft, some free agency in this week’s mailbag. Let’s dive in on all of it …
From Jason Weeks (@jasontweeks): Greater likelihood … Vikings trade to 3 for Maye or 4 for JJ?
Jason, I’d say the Minnesota Vikings move to No. 4 for J.J. McCarthy, but that’s not to say they prefer the Michigan quarterback (though they might, I don’t know one way or the other). It’s because of what it sure seems like is going to happen within the top three.
Deion Sanders has turned Colorado football into a dangerous program on the recruiting trail, and he’s done it without having to leave Boulder.

That trend continued with Colorado’s class in 2023–24. The latest class of new Buffaloes features just seven high school recruits (including five-star IMG Academy product Jordan Seaton) and a whopping 24 transfers.

With the 2024 free agency frenzy coming and going, let’s examine which newcomers might not play up to the high expectations that come from a lucrative contract.
Let’s focus on expectations more than performance. The teams that splurge in March tend to do it because of need and impatience—maybe one day the NFL will have the draft before free agency. But this offseason schedule benefits the veterans, and there’s nothing wrong with getting the bag from desperate and/or reckless teams.

You can’t spell NASCAR without Earnhardt or Elliott.
Well, that’s probably (definitely) not true, but you know what I mean.
First, it was Dale Earnhardt and Bill Elliott. Then, it was Dale Earnhardt Jr. Now, of course, it’s Chase Elliott.
Bottom line: you put those two names together, and you’re gonna get eyeballs on the screen, no matter what.
Anyway, Dale Jr. – NASCAR’s former Most Popular Driver – is teaming up with Chase Elliott, the current MPD, later this spring at Darlington in a way that should have all the fans feeling things when the No.
All eyes were on quarterback Caleb Williams on Wednesday as the likely No. 1 overall pick in April’s NFL Draft worked out in front of teams at the USC Pro Day.
A large Chicago Bears contingent was in attendance, of course, as the team holds the top pick in the draft, and they just traded away their former starting quarterback, Justin Fields.
Not only were the front office folks, like GM Ryan Poles, on the USC campus, but new Bears wide receiver Keenan Allen showed up as well.
Interestingly, Allen wore #13 for all 11 years he spent with the Los Angeles Chargers.
