The New York Knicks defeated 2024 NBA champions the Boston Celtics in the NBA Playoffs to earn a spot in the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since 2002. The Knicks won their series in 6 games against the Celtics who struggled to regain their full momentum after losing Jayson Tatum to a torn Achilles during Game 4 of their series. The Knicks will now play the Indiana Pacers, who are making their second consecutive appearance at the Eastern Conference finals after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-1 in the playoffs.

On Tuesday night, Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky played a pivotal role in his team’s 5-2 Game 1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.
Bobrovsky stopped 31 of 33 shots, but beyond the stat line, the netminder grabbed most headlines on the night because of a collision that sparked serious concern.
Late in the second period, Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov skated through the crease and struck Bobrovsky in the head with his knee. 
No penalty was assessed on the play, and Bobrovsky remained in the game.
