The 2025 Valero Texas Open kicks off Thursday at TPC San Antonio, where Akshay Bhatia is the defending champion. There are plenty of notable names in the field getting one final tune-up before the 2025 Masters, including Ludvig Aberg, Hideki Matsuyama, Jordan Spieth and others.

The Packers are going to have a different look on their offensive line this season.
General Manager Brian Gutekunst confirmed that free agent addition Aaron Banks is set to be their left guard while Elgton Jenkins will move from that spot to center for the 2025 season. Gutekunst said the team had “plenty of conversations” with Jenkins about the move and that they have high hopes for how he’ll fare in a move back to a position he played before entering the NFL.
“Obviously he played center in college,” Gutekunst said, via the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

You often see that when, all of a sudden, players that were unfamiliar to the casual fan suddenly become household names as they work their way into the rotation.

The Los Angeles Rams avoided a quarterback headache in February when they got a deal done with Matthew Stafford, keeping him for another year as their starting quarterback. The contract was agreed to on Feb. 28 but more than a month later, it’s unclear if Stafford has officially signed on the dotted line.
Sean McVay said on “PFT Live” Monday that he’s not sure if Stafford has signed the contract yet, but the Rams just sent it to him and his agent this week. It’s not that there are any holdups or issues. It’s merely semantics, McVay says.

The New York Yankees displayed custom-designed torpedo bats in their season-opening series against the Milwaukee Brewers, much to the chagrin of one of the opposing pitchers.
Reliever Trevor Megill watched as a few of the Yankees sluggers utilized their new weapons to amass 36 runs and launch 15 home runs (including a franchise record nine on Saturday) in the first three games.  The bats are designed so that the barrel is close to the hands, making them more effective at hitting home runs.
