It’s certainly been a week for college athletics, with the House settlement looming, President Donald Trump preparing to start a commission with the help of Nick Saban, while schools prepare for upcoming revenue-sharing. Oh, and Bill Belichick is in the news once again, thanks to the nonstop outside noise involving his girlfriend, Jordan Hudson. 
By now, I’d imagine just about anyone who follows college athletics is sick and tired of hearing about the House settlement, and I can honestly say I don’t blame you.

Rarely have the Cleveland Browns given their fans anything to get excited about. And that likely won’t change this fall after the team’s GM announced on Friday that the Orange and Brown are likely to lose their Chubb. As in, Nick Chubb, the franchise’s best running back not named Jim Brown.
General Manager Andrew Berry, commenting on the possibility of Chubb, a free agent, returning to Cleveland next season, told Cleveland radio station 92.3 The Fan: “I wouldn’t rule anything out, but I would say that it’s probably increasingly unlikely.

Los Angeles Rams edge rusher Jared Verse wants to play on both sides of the ball.
The reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year told Rich Eisen that he’s asked Rams head coach Sean McVay “thousands of times” to give him a few reps on offense. But every time, McVay “brushes it off.”
“I’m going to tell him again: ‘Put me on offense. Throw me the ball, dude,’” Verse said.

It’s not as if Verse doesn’t have a little experience playing offense.

On Friday afternoon, the SEC officially announced the individual award winners and all-conference teams from the 2025 college softball season, with a total of two Alabama Crimson Tide players among those receiving honors.
Of those two, freshman outfielder Audrey Vandagriff received First Team All-SEC honors, while senior infielder Kali Heivilin was named to the Second Team.
So far this season, Vandagriff has been Alabama‘s top hitter across 56 games in which she owns a .407 AVG with six home runs, 31 RBI, and a 1.096 OPS.

Caitlin Clark and her Indiana Fever WNBA teammates turned some heads on Friday afternoon as the team posted a video of the ladies rocking some pro-Pacers gear on the Fever’s official social media accounts. Unfortunately, however, it didn’t work out the way anyone from Indiana wanted, as the Pacers would end up getting smoked 126-104 by the Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, and now lead 2 games to 1.
