With only three points separating the sides in the race for Europe, this was a big fixture in the Bundesliga’s penultimate weekend. Ole Werner kept his starting XI from last week’s disappointing draw against Union Berlin. Meanwhile, Péter Gulácsi returns in Leipzig’s goal after passing the concussion protocol.
Ahead of kickoff, Bremen bid farewell to the players who will certainly leave the club this season. Oliver Burke and Milos Veljkovic were among those who got a warm send-off from the Weserstadion.

British 21-year-old Josh Tarling delivered a career-high victory on stage two of the Giro d’Italia, winning the individual time-trial by one second from overall favourite Primoz Roglic.
Tarling spent an hour in the hot seat watching as others tried and failed to knock the Ineos Grenadiers rider off spot. Roglic (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) just missed out but earned the mighty consolation of the pink jersey after taking the overall race lead from stage-one winner Mads Pedersen (Lidl–Trek) by one second.

Derek Carr is leaving the NFL pretty much the same way he entered it – trying to do what is best for his team, what is best for his family, and after much prayer.
Carr announced his retirement Saturday morning via the New Orleans Saints social media account (Yes, it’s 2025). 
“Upon reflection of prayer, and in discussion with Heather (his wife), I’ve decided to retire from the National Football League,” Carr said in a statement. “For more than 11 years, we have been incredibly blessed, and we are forever grateful and humbled by this experience.
