On Saturday afternoon, USC women’s basketball dominated UNC Greensboro to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Later in the day, the Trojans found out that their opponent for the Round of 32 will be Mississippi State.
The No. 9 seed Bulldogs earned the right to face the top-seeded Trojans by winning their first round game against No. 8 seed Cal, 59-46. Mississippi State controlled the game throughout, taking the lead for good less than three minutes in. MSU led by seven at halftime, by 14 after three, as Cal’s offense never could get going.
