It has been more than 48 hours since Duke basketball lost to Virginia, but Jon Scheyer is still upset over a blown call that likely cost his team the game. The 35-year-old coach made that abundantly clear on Monday.
Scheyer, in his first year as head coach at his alma mater, has led the Blue Devils to an 17-8 record through their first 25 games. They are slated to be somewhere around a seven-seed in the NCAA Tournament at this current point of the season, but are on the heels of a two-game losing streak.
Except that shouldn’t be the case.

Monday was a busy day for car launches as McLaren unveiled the MCL60. Only a couple of hours later, Aston Martin showed off what it hopes will be a competitive car in the AMR23.
Aston Martin has a lot going on these days. Four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel rode off into the sunset and was replaced by two-time champ Fernando Alonso. In addition to the change to their driver lineup, the team is also moving into a new factory this year.
But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves, we’re here to take a look at the new car.

The Cardinals vacated over 100 wins after an investigation into the program.
In 2013, Louisville basketball was the last team standing, winning the NCAA tournament as the No. 1 overall seed. However, an investigation into the program allegedly paying escorts to help recruit players led to the Cardinals vacating 123 wins, including the championship. 
As a result, Louisville can’t hang a banner acknowledging their most recent NCAA championship. However, it appears the school has found a loophole.

He faces 18 to 40 years in prison for  the second-degree murder charge.
Former Michigan State men’s basketball player Keith Appling pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and a felony firearm charge on Monday in connection with a fatal shooting that killed Appling’s relative. 
The plea, which came on the day his trial was set to begin, stems from a May 2021 incident in Detroit, where prosecutors say Appling shot Clyde Edmonds. He faces 18 to 40 years in prison for the murder charge and two years for the firearm charge.

This will be Mike Brey’s final year as the head men’s basketball coach at Notre Dame. The 63-year-old announced that he will be stepping down from his role at the end of the 2022/23 season on Jan. 19.

It has been a great run for me and our program over the past two decades, but it is time for a new voice to lead this group into the future. I want to thank our student-athletes, assistant coaches and support staff who have played such a key role in the culture we have created.

Is it just me, or did anyone else notice how NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s comments last week could have fit nicely in the movie, “Undercover Brother?”
Goodell sounded like one of those white news anchors in the 2002 classic comedy as they described black presidential candidate General Warren Boutwell. Billy Dee Williams played that role, which was patterned after General Colin Powell.

It’s a great movie, if you haven’t seen it. It expertly makes fun of white and black stereotypes in hilarious fashion.

Kevin Durant, the biggest name to switch teams last week, will not debut with the Suns until after the All-Star break. But many teams got to trot out their new-look lineups over the weekend following a busy trade deadline, including the Mavs, who featured Kyrie Irving and Luka Dončić for the first time on Saturday.
Elsewhere around the Association, the Bucks and Cavaliers won’t stop winning and the Spurs can’t stop losing.
