Neil Shipley recorded his first professional win on Saturday.
The world of golf never stops delivering epic storylines.
Less than a week after Rory McIlroy won The Masters last year’s low amateur from Augusta’s annual outing made quite the name for himself.
Neil Shipley, also the low amateur at last year’s U.S. Open, won his first professional event at the LECOM Suncoast Classic on Saturday in Florida. It took five playoff holes, but Neil can officially say that he is a winner on a professional tour.
Carlos Mendoza updated the injuries of four Mets before Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Here is the latest from New York’s manager on the statuses of Mark Vientos, Francisco Alvarez, Jeff McNeil and Paul Blackburn.
Vientos ‘feeling better’
Vientos left Saturday’s 3-0 win with groin discomfort and was frustrated but “not concerned.” Mendoza’s Sunday update confirmed as much.
“Feeling better,” Mendoza said of Vientos.
Cleveland Browns fans got some less-than-ideal news Thursday during general manager Andrew Berry’s pre-draft press conference. Though his focus remains on the draft, he offered a brief update on linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, whose recovery Berry described as “nebulous.”
Berry noted that Owusu-Koramoah is still progressing, which offers some optimism. However, the cryptic wording he used isn’t very reassuring. The linebacker initially suffered a neck injury just before Halloween in a game against the Baltimore Ravens, requiring him to be carted off the field.

When Jess Naz and Ella Morris struck twice in the space of five minutes to level the game at 2-2, they looked to have rescued a point – or maybe more – for Tottenham.
The momentum had swung in their favour with 20 minutes to play and with top-scorer Bethany England returning from injury off the bench, the stage was set for a fairytale finish.
Tennessee redshirt junior offensive lineman Larry Johnson III announced he will enter the NCAA transfer portal.
“After much thought and prayer, I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal,” Johnson III announced. “This was not an easy decision, but one I feel is right for my path moving forward.
“Thank you Vol nation for all the love and support. I’ll carry the memories, lessons and relationships with me into this next chapter.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka reached her fourth Stuttgart Open final with a hard-fought 7-5 6-4 win over Italy’s Jasmine Paolini.
The 26-year-old is targeting a first title, though, having lost to Ash Barty in 2021 and Iga Swiatek in both 2022 and 2023.
Sabalenka held her nerve to take the first set despite almost throwing away a 5-2 lead, before Paolini started strongly to win the first three games of the second.
