The months-long wait to see Juan Soto in a full Mets uniform at Citi Field is finally over.
During lineup introductions before the Mets’ home opener against the Blue Jays on Friday afternoon, Soto received a rousing ovation from fans in attendance. The superstar slugger’s moment was only made sweeter with longtime Mets voice Howie Rose behind the microphone for the announcement.
Soto signed a record-breaking 15-year, $765 million contract with the Mets in early December. The 26-year-old slugger has arrived home slashing .238/.407/.
The opening games for the Skyline Chili Reds Futures High School Showcase presented by PNC Bank have been postponed due to the expected rain. Makeup games are to be determined.
The annual showcase was slated to open Saturday with a triple-header at the University of Cincinnati’s baseball stadium: Mason vs. Moeller, Harrison vs. St. Xavier and Anderson vs. Ryle. The opener between Mason and Moeller is a rematch of last year’s Division I regional championship game, which Mason won en route to its first state championship. Moeller is ranked No.

A college basketball coaching career unlike any other is on the verge of reaching its apex.
In the last four years, college basketball has seen six national championship-winning head coaches announce their retirement from the sport.
The number of active head coaches with at least one national championship on their resume? Six.
The slew of recent retirements has left college basketball — a sport where the head coaches are typically the defining stars — without a defined set of names to lead the game into the first stage of its next era.

On March 25, the Department of Education opened a Title IX investigation on the Portland (Oregon) Public Schools for allowing a trans-identifying male to compete in girls’ sports. Despite the attention from the federal government, Oregon seemingly has no intent on halting this madness anytime soon.
According to conservative journalist David Medina, a trans-identifying male named Lia Rose (who used to be known as Zachary) competed in the Portland Interscholastic League women’s high jump event on Wednesday.

Now that we know a few of the NCAA stars that will NOT be declaring for the upcoming 2025 WNBA Draft, let’s take a look at a few of the biggest prospects for the 2026 class.
The 2025 WNBA Draft is just weeks away, and with March Madness winding down, eligible players are deciding whether or not to declare for the pros. With the extra year of COVID eligibility still lingering for some, plus redshirt years from injuries, there are many college seniors that are deciding to come back to college instead of heading to the WNBA.
There are three projected lottery picks playing in the Final Four, and they’re all on Duke: Cooper Flagg, Khaman Maluach and Kon Knueppel. Let’s look at four non-lottery NBA Draft prospects to watch on every Final Four team:
(You can view my updated rankings with detailed scouting reports for every prospect in the NBA Draft Guide.)
Duke Blue Devils
Tyrese Proctor, junior guard (rank: 24th)
Proctor was an expected one-and-done after reclassifying to begin his Duke career in 2022, which was Jon Scheyer’s first year coaching the team. It didn’t go as planned.
