Stuttgart set up a German Cup final clash with third-division Arminia Bielefeld after a 3-1 win over RB Leipzig on Wednesday. 
Under the watchful eyes of Jurgen Klopp, the new head of global soccer for Leipzig’s owners Red Bull, the visitors were outclassed by a strong Stuttgart side.
Goals from Angelo Stiller, Nick Woltemade and Jamie Leweling took Stuttgart to victory, putting them on track for a first German Cup victory since 1997.

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — The Athletics traded talented base-stealer and outfielder Esteury Ruiz to the reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday for minor league right-hander Carlos Duran.
Ruiz, who led the American League with 67 stolen bases in 2023 for an AL rookie record, was designated for assignment by the A’s on Sunday. He is headed to join Triple-A Oklahoma City.
The A’s announced the move ahead of their series finale Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs at Sutter Health Park.

West Virginia has added a major piece to the 2026 recruiting class with a commitment from Georgetown (Tx.) running back Jett Walker.
Walker, 6-foot-2, 212-pounds, selected the Mountaineers over a number of scholarship offers including Houston, Oklahoma State, Ohio, Charlotte and others.
He announced his decision on social media.
The Rivals.com three-star prospect was fresh off a visit to Morgantown over the weekend where he left highly impressed with the experience.

“I thought the visit was great. What stood out was what coach (Rich) Rodriguez is building in Morgantown,” he said.

PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — The Chicago Bears seemed to shift at least some of their attention for a new stadium back to the suburbs, with president Kevin Warren saying Wednesday the team’s focus is split between a tract of land it owns in Arlington Heights and the Chicago lakefront.
“The focus now is both downtown and Arlington Heights,” Warren said at the NFL meetings. “These are not linear processes or projects. They take time. They take a lot of energy and effort. I am very, very pleased with where we are.”
Warren’s comments marked a shift for the organization.
