In 2023, the girls basketball team at Mid Vermont Christian School forfeited a state playoff game against Long Trail because the latter had a male player who identified as a girl. The Vermont Principals Association immediately took action against the Christian school and banned it from all tournaments in all sports.
Two years later, the school remains banned from state athletics competition, and is currently suing the VPA for violating its First Amendment rights.

Even though the Los Angeles Rams landed Davante Adams in free agency and brought back Tutu Atwell on a $10 million deal, wide receiver is a position they could still address early in the draft. It’s a long-term need and this draft class is littered with talented prospects who could contribute for years to come.
One player who would make a lot of sense for the Rams is TCU wideout Jack Bech. He’s drawn comparisons to Cooper Kupp for his route running, willingness to block and craftiness after the catch, so it’s reasonable to think the Rams might be interested.

Enzo Maresca’s job as Chelsea manager is under no immediate threat despite growing pressure from the Blues faithful after Sunday’s deflating 2-2 draw against Ipswich Town.
The Daily Mail reports that Maresca still has the backing of the club’s hierarchy, but he risked riling up the fans after his recent comments about the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge.

Apr. 14—QUINCY — The Quincy Jacks soccer team won on the road 1-0 in Thursday’s game against Toppenish.
“I think the biggest thing is when we’re on our game and playing our style of soccer, we’re going to be a pretty dangerous team,” said coach Hector Vaca.
The Jacks put up the one score of the game with a buildup play that started from their keeper and worked through lines into their defense. The ball then made it into the midfield where Daniel Mendoza kicked the ball out wide and led to a tap in by Edwin Hernandez, said Vaca.
Apr. 14—MATTAWA — The Wahluke Warriors soccer team earned a 13-0 victory against Zillah on Friday continuing their successful season and putting their record at 8-2.
“I think we did really good,” said Warriors player Diego Perez. “We had really good energy and I think that’s what really helped us.”
The Warriors took a strong lead ending the first half 9-0 and continued to control the field as they went into the second half putting up four more points by the end of the game.

The Minnesota Lynx have traded their first-round pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft in exchange for Washington Mystics forward Karlie Samuelson. Samuelson is fresh off a career season with the Mystics in which she averaged 8.4 points per game and shot 39.8% from three, also posting 2.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
