Ludvig Åberg was asked about his favorite thing at Augusta National. His answer is also mine.
AUGUSTA, Ga. — The greatest thing about Augusta National and The Masters Tournament has nothing to do with Amen Corner, Pimento Cheese sandwiches, or the Azaleas that perfectly blossom all around.
It’s their most sacred rule instead.
No cell phones.

With the NFL Draft just a few weeks away, former Longhorn Quinn Ewers is busy traveling across the country for Top-30 visits. His latest destination is Las Vegas, where he will meet with the Raiders on Tuesday. Ewers is an intriguing prospect for a team looking to add depth at the quarterback position.
As Ewers continues to tour the country, he is coming off a very good season for the Longhorns. During the 2024 campaign, he completed 293 of his 445 passing attempts for 3,472 yards. He also set a new career-high in touchdown passes with 31.
One of the nation’s top remaining uncommitted basketball prospects in the 2025 recruiting cycle has officially set a commitment date, one that could be of interest to the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Brayden Burries, a high school prospect who ranks among the top overall players nationally, has announced that he will be making his anticipated decision this Wednesday, April 9 at 12:45 p.m. ET. Alabama is one of the five finalists for Burries, with the Crimson Tide also joined by the Arizona Wildcats, Oregon Ducks, Tennessee Volunteers, and USC Trojans.
Apr. 8—For the first time since 2019, the Newton football team will not play Marshalltown this upcoming season.
High school football schedules for 2025 and 2026 were released by the Iowa High School Athletic Association on Monday and non-district opponents for the next two seasons were revealed.
And the Cardinals will play the Class 4A defending state champion and the defending state runner-up in 2025. Carlisle and Bondurant-Farrar are back on the schedule, too, after playing Newton in district action the past two seasons.
AUGUSTA, Ga. — Ten years ago, Patrick Reed struck a 3-wood on Augusta National’s Par-5 second hole.
The result?
A decade later, Reed still describes it as, “The weirdest thing that’s happened to me at Augusta.”
It was the final round of the 2015 Masters when Reed blasted a Nike 3-wood and then felt nothing.
“It felt like there was no golf ball,” he said. “Then I looked down and the entire face of my 3-wood was caved in. I literally had a hole in my golf club.
Apr. 8—MOSES LAKE — On Friday, the Moses Lake Mavericks (6-2) softball team dominated at home against the visiting Eisenhower Cadets (2-4), winning the doubleheader 20-0 and 14-1.
Heading into this matchup, head coach Mike Hofheins emphasized remaining focused and not letting their guards down.
“I was super proud of the way we just kept our focus and kept playing hard and playing clean throughout the entire evening,” he said.
Momentum was captured early and never relinquished by the Mavs, scoring several times in the first innings of both games.

The Nuggets have fired coach Michael Malone and general manager Calvin Booth, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania on Tuesday.
There’s a big weight off of Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin’s shoulders now that he has passed Wayne Gretzky for the top spot on the NHL’s all-time goals list, but he knows that the next order of business is the playoffs, and he’s not letting the aftermath of his historic accomplishment get in the way of another potential Stanley Cup run.
Even if that means shooting down an offer to appear on The Tonight Show.
According to Russian Machine Never Breaks, Capitals owner Ted Leonsis did an interview with DC radio station 106.
