Dawn Staley and the South Carolina Gamecocks will have the No. 1 seed in the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament — all thanks to a coin toss.
Both South Carolina and Texas finished their respective regular-season conference schedules with identical 15-1 records and each won a game against each other. So with win percentage and head-to-head results equal, tournament seeding came down to a coin-flip tiebreaker.
Faced with this possibility last week, the South Carolina head coach expressed concerns that a coin flip wasn’t the best or the fairest way to determine seeding.

Bollocks!
A story out of Germany is so unbelievable that we’d never think it was real, except for the fact that soccer has a way of continually churning out the strangest moments in sports.
Over the weekend a match between FC Taxi Duisburg II and SV Rot-Weiss Mülheim in the German eighth division had to be cancelled after a small child on the field ran up to referee Stefan Kahler and bit his testicle — causing enough pain that he wasn’t able to continue.

For all the hoopla that goes into the NFL combine, especially for the quarterbacks looking to create some buzz as the draft quickly approaches, there comes a time when some of the performances are a bit overblown. In order to win on the PGA Tour, no matter the level of event or the strength of the field, you have to be damn near perfect, and while he did card one bogey over the weekend, Joe Highsmith was an absolute machine while chasing down his first career victory at PGA National.
A quick note on PGA National, by the way. It may not be the brutal test it used to be, with players turning it into a bit of a birdie fest over recent years, but it still delivers.

The 2009 Masters Champion will compete in the Masters for the first time in six years.
Angel Cabrera is returning to Augusta National this spring.
Golfweek first reported the news.
The 55-year-old Argentine has not played at The Masters since 2019, when he missed the cut after posting rounds of 82 and 75 across the first two days.
In the 18 months after that, he sporadically played on the PGA Tour Champions, making 11 starts overall.
