MIAMI – Chase Hooper has no problem beating up the elder statesmen of the UFC, but perhaps it’s time to move on.
In his most recent outing, Hooper (15-3-1 MMA, 7-3 UFC) submitted Clay Guida and on Saturday will try to do the same to Jim Miller (38-18 MMA, 27-17 UFC) at UFC 314 from Kaseya Center (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+).
Hooper says he has never set out to be the “prospect killer,” despite what some may think.

NEW YORK (AP) — As they head for a third bout, Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor have found something to fight about.
A respectful rivalry turned testy Wednesday over Serrano’s contention that the undisputed 140-pound champion backed out of an agreement to stage their July 11 match in 12 three-minute rounds, the same as a men’s championship match.
Both of Taylor’s narrow victories over Serrano have come in fights featuring 10 rounds that were two minutes long, the standard for women’s boxing.

BOSTON (AP) — Bo Bichette’s sacrifice fly in the 11th inning scored Ernie Clement and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. celebrated his contract extension with three hits as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Boston Red Sox 2-1 on Wednesday night.
Guerrero and the Blue Jays finalized a $500 million, 14-year contract that starts in 2026, a deal with a record $325 million signing bonus. Later, the slugger went 3 for 5 and scored the team’s first run.
Toronto’s Kevin Gausman worked eight innings, allowing one unearned run on four hits with 10 strikeouts and no walks.
