Israel’s national anthem was met with loud boos at the Paris Olympics as it played ahead of the country’s opening soccer match against Mali on Wednesday. Many fans in attendance were seen waving the Palestinian flag throughout the playing of the anthem as well.
The Israel soccer team arrived at the stadium under heavy police escort that included about a dozen riot police vans following them, according to the Associated Press.
