Bay Area sports fans who wanted to watch the San Francisco 49ers take on the Dallas Cowboys and watch the Golden State Warriors take on the Brooklyn Nets had a choice to make.
They can thank the NBA for that.
The Warriors-Nets game was scheduled to tip off at 5:30 pm PST. The problem is that it conflicted with the Niners-Cowboys divisional round playoff game. So, sensibly, Golden State wanted to push back the start of the game.
The Mercury News‘ Shayna Rubin reported over the weekend that the team had put in the request, but the league gave a firm “nope.

Georgia offensive lineman Warren McClendon has officially accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl. While working out for NFL teams, McClendon will honor his fallen teammate Devin Willock in the process.

The Fox lead NFL analyst has had an outstanding postseason.
1. “Fine. Bench me. But I’m gonna make it hard as s— for you to bench me.”
That was Fox NFL analyst Greg Olsen on the SI Media Podcast just over a month ago when talking about the prospect of Tom Brady replacing him in the booth whenever the legendary quarterback retires.
After two weeks of the NFL playoffs, Olsen is clearly going to make it “hard as s—” for Fox to bench him.

The Toffees are back in the relegation battle, sitting tied for last on points in the Premier League table after 20 games.
Premier League legend Frank Lampard’s young managerial career has taken yet another ugly turn.
According to Sky Sports, the longtime Chelsea midfielder (and former manager of the Blues) was sacked by Everton on Monday, ending his tenure after just 38 Premier League games in charge with the club currently in 19th place.
Lampard’s year with the Toffees was marked by inconsistency and underperformance.
Deebo Samuel kept the receipts, but Cowboys LB Micah Parsons wants no part of the nonsense.
Hours after Samuel and the 49ers eliminated Dallas from the playoffs with a 19-12 win in the NFC Divisional game, Samuel took to Instagram to remind Parsons not to “poke the bear.”
The All-Pro defender, of course, didn’t appreciate it.
“Don’t Poke The Bear,” Samuel wrote before posting a series of pictures from the previous week, including one quoting Parsons saying, “This is who I wanted.”
Parsons was quick to respond to the post. And by quick, I mean almost instantly.
Jalen Hurts and Brock Purdy had an epic duel when Hurts played for Oklahoma and Purdy was at Iowa State. They meet again Sunday for a spot in the Super Bowl.
The Dallas Cowboys sent an all-time awkward tweet about Dak Prescott after losing to the 49ers.
Dallas’ season came crashing down Sunday night as the offense and Dak stalled in the playoffs against San Francisco.
It was beyond disappointing, and fans are absolutely furious with what played out on the field.

Well, either on purpose or completely on accident, the Cowboys really hung Dak out to dry after his two interception performance.

Undisputed host Shannon Sharpe opened Monday’s show with an apology for his role in a sideline altercation with multiple Grizzlies players and the father of Memphis star Ja Morant on Friday night at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
