The New York Mets didn’t start their season the way they wanted, dropping their Opening Day matchup to the Houston Astros on Thursday. But baseball is a game of second chances, and they wasted no time getting their payback.
On Friday night, they returned the favor with a 3-1 victory, fueled by a dominant start from Tylor Megill, a lights-out bullpen, and a certain $765 million man who reminded everyone why the Mets bet big on him.

An athlete’s uniform number is their identity.
When she can, Mae Murphy wears the No. 16. In the fall for soccer and the spring for lacrosse that’s always been her number. Over the winter, where the numeral six is forbidden by rule, the Moorestown senior wears 11.
For her final scholastic season, the Quakers’ midfielder traded in her more familiar jersey for something special.

The Philadelphia 76ers entered the 2024-25 season with championship expectations after the big signing of Paul George in the offseason. The idea was that the Big 3 of George, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey would get the Sixers over the hump and past Round 2 of the playoffs for the first time since 2001.
However, the season was derailed by injuries and disjointed play on the floor due to a lack of chemistry with all of the new faces. Embiid only played 19 games while George only played 41 and Maxey is currently only at 52 games as he has been held back by back and finger issues.

Fortunately, it (eventually) got fixed and fans could take in all the games. Here are the best highlights from Opening Day.

Juwan Johnson had a decision to make this offseason. He could re-sign with New Orleans or find a new home for the first since being picked up as an undrafted free agent in 2020. As the free agency approached, he realized he wanted to stay in New Orleans, but it’s not that simple.

The mock drafts are in peak season right now and the New York Giants, who hold the third overall selection in the 2025 NFL draft, will have a slew of top prospects to choose from.
They are dependent on the two teams selecting in front of them. Their ideal pick would be Miami quarterback Cam Ward, but if he is not selected by Tennessee at No. 1, it’s hard to see him slipping past Cleveland at No. 2.
In the latest mock draft from Josh Liskiewitz of Pro Football Focus, Ward and Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders go 1-2, leaving the Giants with a myriad of choices.
