Since 2019, linebacker has been a strength of the San Francisco 49ers roster. It’s now a significant question mark following Dre Greenlaw’s exit in free agency.
The 49ers didn’t make any significant additions in the free agent market to replace Greenlaw, but general manager John Lynch indicated to the Athletic’s Matt Barrows that the team may not need to add another LB to replace Greenlaw as the Will LB alongside Fred Warner.
“He’ll have an opportunity,” Lynch told Barrows when asked about third-year LB Dee Winters.

The Los Angeles Lakers have rebuilt some momentum after going winless on a four-game road trip. They came home to defeat the Phoenix Suns on Sunday and the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, and on Wednesday, they hosted the Denver Nuggets, a team they have rarely defeated over the last two calendar years.
Shortly before the opening tip, Nikola Jokić and Jamal Murray, the Nuggets’ two best players, were ruled out of action due to injury. That gave the Lakers enough of an opening to dominate the game.
Thanks to some scorching early shooting, they took a 14-2 lead and never looked back.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Deni Avdija had 31 points, 16 rebounds and eight assists to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 115-99 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night.
Anfernee Simons added 22 points for the Blazers, who led by 21 in the third quarter and never trailed.
Desmond Bane led the Grizzlies with 20 points.
Portland moved within two games of the Dallas Mavericks for 10th place in the Western Conference and the final spot in the play-in tournament.

After falling to Xavier 86-80 in the First Four of March Madness, Texas is reportedly parting ways with coach Rodney Terry. Texas finished the season 19-16, 13th place in the SEC and wasted a generational talent in Tre Johnson.
Kirk Bohls of the Houston Chronicle reports it would take $20 million dollars or more to buy out the UT staff. Texas would also most likely have to pay the buyout of any coach they hire. UT athletic director Chris Del Conte must have his financial ducks in a row to pull the trigger on a change.
