UCF officially accepted an invitation late Sunday to the inaugural College Basketball Crown, a 16-team postseason men’s basketball tournament in Las Vegas.
The Knights (17-16), who advanced to the second round of the Big 12 Tournament last week before falling to Kansas in overtime, will face Oregon State in a first-round game at 5:30 p.m. on April 1 inside MGM Grand Garden Arena. The bracket was revealed live Monday morning during FS1’s Breakfast Ball, a talk show hosted by Craig Carton, Danny Parkins and Mark Schlereth.

For years we selected Players of the Month for the Newsletter and for a few years after that we selected Players of the Month on NJHoops.com. For the tenth consecutive year we have decided to celebrate the NJ stars four times as often.

The field is set for college basketball’s newest postseason tournament: the College Basketball Crown.
Put on by Fox Sports and the Anschutz Entertainment Group, the College Basketball Crown is a new postseason tournament in Las Vegas aimed at giving teams that didn’t make the NCAA Tournament a chance to continue their season and play for a title, similar to the NIT. The 16-team tournament features some guaranteed selections from the Big Ten, Big 12 and Big East. Other teams included come from the West Coast Conference, Mountain West, Atlantic-10 and American Athletic Conference.

College basketball is getting a new and exciting post-season basketball tournament this year. The College Basketball Crown will feature 16 men’s teams from March 31 to April 6. The tournament will feature schools from the Big Ten, Big 12 and Big East, in addition to at-large participants. Teams were announced on Monday, March 17, live on Breakfast Ball at 9:30 a.m. ET.

Purdue is set to host one of the top transfer defensive backs on the market for a visit next week, according to Rivals. North Alabama cornerback Ashaad Williams will be in West Lafayette for a spring practice visit on March 28th, which Boiler Upload subscribers knew was in the works for a week.
As a junior in 2024, Williams elevated his play to become a key contributor for North Alabama, racking up 26 total tackles, two interceptions and eight passes defended for the Lions last season.

The money is flowing bigtime this NFL offseason, backing up Brinks trucks and setting records. And we have another one in the contract extension the Houston Texans just gave cornerback Derek Stingley Jr.
Stingley Jr. has agreed to a three-year extension worth $90 million. The deal was first reported by ESPN.
And, doing some quick division here…
That extension makes Stingley a $30 million per year player.
He thus becomes the NFL’s first-ever $30 million-a-year defensive back and, quite obviously, also the league’s highest-paid defensive back.
