GAINESVILLE, Fla.— Florida will open NCAA Tournament play Friday in Raleigh, N.C., against Norfolk State as the No. 1 seed in the West Region.
The Gators’ emphatic win Sunday against Tennessee in the SEC Tournament championship game ended the debate on whether the Gators would earn a No. 1 seed.
The only question after Sunday’s 86-77 win against the Vols concerned UF’s potential path to the Final Four in San Antonio.
The NCAA Selection Committee tabbed Todd Golden’s team the fourth No. 1 seed.

Here is the full field for the 2025 NIT Tournament.
In theory the National Invitational Tournament should be a place where mid-majors and lesser-known teams have a chance their chance to compete against the best programs in the country who barely missed out on the big dance of the NCAA Tournament.
A lot has changed in recent years. The NIT has been trying to find ways to carve a niche in postseason basketball.

Let the bracket reactions begin.
We have a bracket, and now we have three days to talk about it. Let’s start immediately.
Here are 10 immediate thoughts on this year’s field of 68:
1. The SEC was valued even more highly than we thought
There was little doubt that Sunday was going to be the day the SEC was going to set a new record for the most teams from a single conference in the same NCAA tournament. That happened in a major way, with a whopping 14 of the league’s 16 teams hearing their name called.
Parent advocates at Elmont Memorial High School in Long Island, New York, want to stop their school from competing against schools from the rival Bellmore-Merrick district after their players reportedly faced severe harassment, including several alleged racially charged taunts.
As relayed by the New York Post, the dispute pits Elmont High School, whose players have allegedly been targeted, against schools in the neighboring Bellmore-Merrick district.

Cooper Flagg leads Duke to be the tournament favorite.
March Madness is here. The 2025 Men’s NCAA Tournament field is set, and as expected Duke enters the tournament as the overall favorite. This is largely thanks to phenom Cooper Flagg, arguably the most-hyped NBA prospect born in the United States since LeBron James.
Flagg and Duke managed to win the ACC Tournament despite an injury to Flagg, and their deep rotation makes them a prime tournament team this year.

Natasha Cloud will join the defending champions, while the Connecticut Sun will receive the No. 7 pick in the 2025 draft.
The Connecticut Sun have traded Natasha Cloud to the New York Liberty in exchange for the No. 7 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, the team announced Sunday night. The Sun, who acquired Cloud in the trade that sent longtime franchise cornerstone Alyssa Thomas to the Phoenix Mercury, stocked up on draft capital, while the Liberty bolstered their already-talented roster with one of the game’s elite two-way players.
