The numbers behind Caleb Williams’ deep ball inaccuracy are startling.
Caleb Williams was supposed to be the franchise quarterback the Chicago Bears literally waited 100 years for when team selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Williams’ mere arrival in Chicago was miraculous by itself: the pick was acquired via a trade with the Carolina Panthers a year earlier, and seemed to set up Chicago for a long run of contention with a top QB prospect joining a rising, young team.
If only it could have been that simple.

Former QB Cam Newton’s outfit on ‘First Take’ offered some inspiration
Former NFL quarterback Cam Newton was back on First Take Friday morning, weighing in on a number of topics in the football world. Newton opined on whether Lamar Jackson was under appreciated, as well as rookie quarterback Caleb Williams’ struggles with the Chicago Bears in his first NFL season.
But social media was ready to weigh in on something else.
What the former quarterback was wearing:
So we came up with this list of things that Newton reminds us of with this outfit.
Ahead of next week’s matchup with Virgini
Arizona is adding a new passer to its quarterback room.
Former Wisconsin quarterback Braedyn Locke is transferring to the Wildcats to compete for starting job against current QB1 Noah Fifita, according to On3.
Arizona went 4-8 this past season. It now has another option under center.
This is a really interesting decision from Arizona for one simple reason:
Locke was really bad this season at Wisconsin.
He was one of the worst QBs – if not the worst – QB in major college football. He finished the season with 1,936 passing yards, 13 passing touchdowns, 10 interceptions and a 48.
Former Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson has been hired as the new football coach at Delaware State, the school announced.
Tennessee running back Dylan Sampson, who set school single-season records for rushing yards and touchdowns this season, is foregoing his final season of eligibility and will enter the 2025 NFL draft, he announced on his Instagram account Friday.
