The Tennessee Titans say their intention this year is to help starting quarterback Will Levis use his second NFL season to develop and become a good quarterback – or at least get the opportunity.
That became an issue when Levis was injured early in Monday night’s victory over the Miami Dolphins and, despite seeming willing and able to return, coach Brian Callahan kept him on the bench in favor of backup Mason Rudolph.
The Titans won their first game of the season with Rudolph and Callahan went into clarification mode soon after.

Earlier this year, during a meeting of the Pro Football Writers of America in Indianapolis, the organization’s president, Calvin Watkins, told members that NFL players wanted to close team locker rooms to the media.
Watkins, the league, and the NFL Players Association had been discussing the matter for some time and, so far, the outcome was that nothing would change.
Well, something is now changing.
On Thursday, some individual players and at least one club — the Cincinnati Bengals — announced they would not be doing interviews in their locker room going forward.

Look, I didn’t want to come out of the box on the first Friday of October ripping the folks of California. I will, because they deserve it and California is the worst, but just know that I didn’t want to. 
Unfortunately, though, they’ve left me no choice. No wiggle room. None. Wisconsin star running back Chez Mellusi is done playing for the time being.
Mellusi is Wisconsin’s leading rusher with 232 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. Now, he’s taking a leave of absence from the program as Luke Fickell’s team continues to struggle.
“We want to let people know that Chez is going to be stepping away from the team for now and working to get his body healthy. He’s endured many injuries and has worked extremely hard to be able to play this year, but his body hasn’t responded the way he expected.
